Illinois Republicans, focused on state races, may wind up with a real problem at the very top of their ticket

Posted in:

* So far, this person is probably the most well-known of any Republican running for US Senate right now…

The Communist Democrats and Pinko RINOs have hijacked elections across the State of IL and the Nation

Its all propaganda to cover their tracks folks….

— Bobby Piton, 2022 US Senate Candidate -State of IL (@UAmerica333) February 14, 2022

* This is why he’s so well-known in certain circles

A charge that over 2,000 voters in Arizona registered under the same address is one of many recent claims resulting from the contentious outcome of the 2020 presidential election. […]

Allegations of voter fraud in the 2020 election have been widely debunked, and Congress has certified Joe Biden’s win over President Donald Trump. An Arizona official calls this claim misleading.

In November, local groups Citizens Investigation and We The People AZ Alliance were provided a random sample of 3,900 “questionable” names of Arizona voters from Bobby Piton, whom Gateway Pundit describes as a mathematician. […]

Piton is a managing partner of PreActive Investments LLC, an Illinois-based financial planning and investment advisory firm. His claims of alleged fraud in Arizona are posted on the firm’s website. Piton also appeared during a Nov. 30 election fraud meeting held by President Donald Trump’s legal team to allege voter fraud in Arizona. […]

Gateway Pundit reported that Twitter suspended Bobby Piton’s account on Nov. 30. Conservative-leaning news outlets The Epoch Times and Breitbart News reported on the suspension, as well. Piton has since established another account. He promotes QAnon loyalist phrase “Where We Go One We Go All” in his Twitter bio.

QAnon is based on the prediction of “The Storm,” an event marked by alleged mass arrests of high profile Democrats and left-leaning celebrities to save the world from a “satanic cult” of pedophiles and cannibals, USA TODAY has reported.

* And

Bobby Piton, a mathematician who is connected to Ron Watkins, the man many believe was posting as Q and driving the QAnon conspiracy theory, called on the crowd to harass and intimidate elected officials and government workers who the conspiracy theorists believe have wronged them.

“Lock them into their damn houses,” Piton said. “Protest around their damn houses.”

* And

Piton, who has shared many QAnon posts and messages on social media, is one of at least 33 supporters of the conspiracy theory who are running for Congress in the 2022 midterms.

It’s been tough to recruit a credible candidate to run against Sen. Tammy Duckworth because she apparently polls off the charts. But, I mean, wow.

...Adding… Piton was ejected from a Kane County Board committee meeting last July.

  1. This is bad for Republicans, but mitigating the issue is that the Governor’s race usually drives turnout, and Duckworth doesn’t really put the hammer down on campaigning for other people.

  5. They found non-fringe, at least semi-credible resume candidates to run against Jesse White and he polled really well too for most of his career.

1998 - Al Salvi, former member of the Illinois House of Representatives*
2002 - Kristine O’Rourke Cohn, Chairman of the Winnebago County Board
2006 - Dan Rutherford, member of the Illinois Senate
2010 - Robert Enriquez, member of the Illinois Human Rights Commission
2014 - Michael Webster, member Board of Education for Cass School District #63
2018 - Jason Helland, Grundy County State’s Attorney

This is not to claim these candidates were perfect, but at least the descriptions above are not embarrassments. The Republican problem in finding a non-fringe candidate to put their name on the ballot is not a sign of Duckworth’s strength (though she is strong), but of the sad state of the Illinois Republican Party.

    *Fine, a little pathetic once

  6. Illinois GOP will be non-existent with a candidate like Irvin for Gov that votes and governs as a Democrat so it can’t get worse than that.

  9. OTOH… if a guy like this is running for Senate in IL, it’s going to be even harder for folks like Irvin to not answer these kinda of questions.

  12. Ah yes, Communist DuPage County. Just last week, the church a couple blocks down from us was forcibly converted by the county into a Josef Stalin Appreciation Center.

There are two kinds of Republicans left in this country: those who support the Bobby Pitons and Darren Baileys of the world, and those who will make their peace with doing so eventually.

  16. To the post,

A female, wounded, combat veteran minority who is seen as very competent at being a Senator by her base and her party will always be tough to beat.

I look at this election a wee bit different, but not too different.

A real ILGOP win will be winning SoS, defeating the retirement income taxing treasurer, thus controlling a patronage office and a fiscal office, and making in-roads in the GA by ending veto-proof majorities, and saving Durkin from a coup.

That’s the benchmark, for me, where the ILGOP can claim victory.

With Chairman Tracy all but welcoming a Piton in the ILGOP (do I really need to add the quote?), it’s folks that Tracy refuses to denounce that could derail even my own measure of success.

Sullivan shoulda ran for Senate. At least his valor-stealing could get the attention it deserves.

  17. = Hard to find somebody who isn’t like this =

I’m thinking of my local races, and see this playing out as well. This could be just about any of the twitter accounts of local republican office holders.

There’s the ’stop the steal’ and anti mask protest organizer running for re-election on the county board.

The 97th house race is looking just as interesting. The republican primary will have a guy running who was kicked off facebook for spreading misinformation. The other primary candidate is the current township clerk - tied with the now former township supervisor currently under federal indictment for embezzlement.

The school board elections are going to be packed with the awake IL crowd, and just last night the current board president of Oswego 308 resigned her board seat due to the threats against her family, and the local law enforcement turning a blind eye to it - and that same Kendall county sheriff who has repeatedly publicly stated his department will not enforce any of the governors orders, is also running in the next election.

Helland is running for an at-large judge spot this time around.

His embarrassments have mostly been local ones.

He shared a post on social media calling for armed men to stand in front of shops to protect them from the riots… in morris, IL.

Calm down, Francis. No one said they’re meaningless, just that Republicans are likely to get a nutty candidate running for US Senate.

  25. I have been surprised Griffin was solely focused on state races and didn’t reward someone for falling on their sword with a chunk of cash just to be a bright spot on the ticket. Surely there is someone looking for a nice way to retire and bow out gracefully.

Similarly, I always believed every candidate should have a worthy challenger, even if they’re guaranteed to win re-election. It forces them to face the voters and stay humble.

  27. = two wing nuts got through the Dem. Primary =

    That’s an understatement.

But the democratic party responded vastly different to that situation. They took the hit in the sort-term to prevent the obvious long-term damage. If I recall correctly, the democratic party as an organization went full scorched earth at the organizational level to put a stop to it. The GOP is long past the point where they can correctly navigate out of their current situation with any hope of keeping the party intact. The democratic party responded quickly and politically brutally to their infiltration.

The time for the GOP to address these issues was when they had an actual neo-nazi running under their name. They sat back and did nothing but make excuses.

  32. To reset a bit;

First, if you are confused, Piton is NOT a fringe type candidate or running against GOP norms.

Piton is appeasing the GOP base.

Any… any discussion that doesn’t first acknowledge that, and also doesn’t acknowledge Chairman Tracy welcomes “all the Piton-types” to the GOP… the rest is missing the entire point of Rich’s post… and how the “new base” can sink the whole boat, Titanic-Like, even with Giriffin’s cash.

    - Annonin’ -, between “Irvin” (*cough* Griffin *cough) and Pritzker, they sit at $110 million, where in the dial is that radio station?

Seriously, though, the name calling is beyond ridiculous these days. Every ordinary Democrat is now called a communist.

Of course, maybe they think having one of these guys at the top of the ticket will help them get their base out to the GOTV Klan rallies and book burnings.

Comment by Candy Dogood Tuesday, Feb 15, 22 @ 12:17 pm

  39. I’ll be honest, I sat down to write a long comment pushing back against commenters who are saying Piton is in the mainstream of the Republican Party.

Then I remembered last week, when the Speaker pleaded with Jim Durkin to tamp down on lies from his caucus that were causing death threats against members. Durkin’s response was to demand more legislative power regardless of election results. He saw death threats as a valid bargaining chip to trade away at the negotiating table. I’m sure Durkin and Piton disagree on plenty of things, but their fundamental approach to achieving power is the same.

  46. This is what happens when a party is gutted by “charity.” Rauner and now Griffin have killed the GOP- why would anyone in their right mind give Irvin $20 for his campaign? So when time comes to take one for the team, if you can’t buy someone to do it, no one will– except nut jobs. Terrible for the state. We need (at least) two functioning parties for democracy to work.
