  3. Repeating to myself over and over again this morning Rich’s words of wisdom, “It’s just a bill” regarding several pieces of legislation. Reminding myself to just wait and see if these messes move at all.

  4. Meh. At least we don’t have to name our bugs up here, unlike Florida, where you have to befriend the palmetto bugs, or get overrun by them.

  5. As I am at this time each year, I’m a proponent of limiting each member of the GA to one bill only. And only bills that I don’t have to read.

  6. Back in Chicago. Managed to pick the one time period over the weekend to come back from Cermak West in Iowa without needing to drive through snow. Longest continuous time I have ever spent there. Made possibe by remote work (I haven’t heard yet but I think we go back next week). This was a temporary arrangement for omicron. It was nice to have different walls to look at for a while. At least this time the new boiler was performing well. We had the former 50+ year one replaced at T-giving (it was in that shape where it costs more to fix than to replace…)

I completely agree. Yesterday felt like it was an entire week long going through recently introduced bills.

A bug control contractor I knew decades ago left Illinois and moved to Florida. Not because of taxes or politics. Up here, things slowdown in winter. In Florida, he gets calls 24/7 all year long, it never slows down.

  9. Who knows, if the Legislature limits the number of bills Members can file, the Members might actually read the relatively few bills that would make it through the process. Maybe we’d stop getting so many badly written, unconstitutional, or unworkable laws passed. But this is Illinois, so….
