Incredibly poor voter turnout thus far. Visited two dozen precincts and not a on had 75 ballots cast as the mid-afternoon.

Only saw two people working the polls with literature today. Both urgin a “YES” vote of the Bring Home Chicago referendum.
More signs than voters.

Largest polling place in Richland County, with three precincts is currently at 166 or 8.3% at 330 p.m. Very light turnout, will likely get to 10 percent, but I think 12 would be the max which would be in the 255 range, I suspect that’s a bit high.

Medium to light turnout at 43rd ward polling place at Lincoln Park library looks like. Definitely the most chatter outside the polling place was about the Bring Chicago Home referendum. Seemed to me to even outdo discussion on the State’s attorney race. The referendum in the lakefront wards as much as referendum on Mayor Johnson as on the issue itself.

Just got back and was the 101st voter at a 3 precinct place in Northwest Lake County. However, as I was leaving, there was a group of High School students that just got out of school voting for the 1st time. About 15 kids and that was great to see!!!

And sorry forgot to add, whatever you think of the CTU and their agenda and politics have to hand it to them…they have a presence at every polling place it seems like the real old Daley machine. Have not seen that in a generation, the message and look are diametrically opposite the Daley machine but the organization and discipline are very similar.

Jackson County had 2 polling sites that didn’t open until after 7:00 and 1 that had early chaos due to it being food distribution day. No one is permitted to park on distribution day as it is drive through. Those trying to vote had to find another place to park then walk over to vote. Even the handicap parking was unavailable for a few hours.

Wish I could add to this, but I voted by mail for the first time. Due to planned surgery last week, I knew I wouldn’t be able to get out to my polling place.

I voted early yesterday. It felt like a waste of time and money with so few contested races in my area. (Why are we even voting for judges if they run unopposed)

I voted by mail. The only contested race really was for states attorney so not a lot going on.

I voted this morning around 8:30 and there had only been a handful of people before me. Very light. Chicago 38th Ward.

Feels like the least buzz for a primary in a long time. Granted all the action in McLean County is on the GOP ballot I refuse to take and I cast my vote early, but just not seeing the usual activity around polling places.

Aren’t turnout numbers sort of irrelevant at least for the next few years. Since there is mail in and absentee and early voting doesn’t that skew turnout on election day? I would think after a few cycles you could sort of average out the in person voting to know if it a light or heavy turnout but now is guesswork until everything counted

For the first time in something like 20 years I voted in person on election day. I got so used to the touchscreens that it never occurred to me to look on the back of the paper ballot. As a result I totally skipped voting on the Chicago ballot initiative.
I wonder if I’m the only one?

At a precinct in Effingham County. Turnout…including all early votes…is slightly over 12%. Best thing today was watching a new citizen vote for the first time. The voter was so excited, and so were we.

Turnout seemed low. I hope that means it is because we’re all early voters now. Low turn out makes it possible for terrible things to happen during primaries.

Voted by mail last Thursday. No line at my mailbox.
Today received email confirmation from the clerk, that my ballot was received and accepted. The one failure was that my “I voted by mail” sticker tore when i tried to peel it off.

I voted last week. There were more election staff (4) than voters (1).
I’m seeing something strange in McHenry County - signs supporting a tax increase for mental health services in lawns of both conservatives and progressives. Could this be the one issue that unites us?

There were a lot of campaigners at my precinct. The Toro one had attitude. (Was that a paid precinct worker? I couldn’t tell.) Then there was a small group of working class guys for Yonker. Strange times.

Witnessed Mah walk up to the 6ft tall Cardenas goon and rip some nasty signs out of the ground behind him. He was livid but not about to try anything with the cameras around.
