The developer working with the White Sox to build a new stadium in the South Loop said Monday he is trying to forge a “financing partnership” with the Bears that could pave the way for Chicago to build two new stadiums at the same time.

“Wouldn’t it be unbelievable for our city if you were to see two amazing facilities for these great sports teams built at once?” said Curt Bailey, president of Related Midwest, which oversees the vacant 62-acre site known as “The 78,” where the new Sox ballpark would be built.

Now, scroll way, way down past the stuff they’ve already floated

Pressed on where the money for both stadiums would come from, Bailey would only say, “We’re working on it.”

How about getting back to us when you’ve got that part figured out?

    Wouldn’t it be unbelievable if our public schools were adequately funded and maintained?

    Wouldn’t it be unbelievable if the funding existed to alleviate a housing crisis decades in the making?

    Wouldn’t it be unbelievable if community investment brought down crime rates in historically neglected neighborhoods, and citywide as a result?

    Wouldn’t it be unbelievable if I could catch a Brown Line train in less than twenty freaking minutes during a weekday rush?

    Lots of unbelievable things around this city, Curt.

    We’re twice as smart as the people of Shelbyville. You just tell us your idea and we’ll vote for it

  13. =Is there a chance JB will bend?=

    Has to get past the legislature first. I’m not seeing much interest there and given JB’s public stance I’m not sure it will.

  18. Lets be crystal clear : Curt Bailey is primarily interested in making as much money as he can at 78. Whatever is good for the public is a secondary concern.
