An insight into the Crimo family

Posted in:

* Robert Crimo Jr. swore under oath that he was pleading guilty to several charges of his own free will and was not promised anything in exchange for his plea. He also swore that nobody coerced him into making a plea deal. And he swore that he understood the consequences of his guilty plea, and understood that he was giving up his right to a trial. And then today…

The father of the Highland Park parade massacre suspect reported to begin his jail sentence on Wednesday wearing a T-shirt saying “I’m a political pawn,” prompting a Lake County judge to threaten him with contempt of court if he broke court rules again. https://t.co/blf2BoRfQN

* Kinda reminds me of this Jan. 6 defendant

A Proud Boy pleaded for leniency from a judge, then yelled ‘Trump won’ on his way out

  1. I think the judge should have pulled the guilty plea and informed everyone that they should prepare for a trial.

  2. I guess one can be a political pawn and a guilty criminal? Either way, the leniency he has received throughout all of this is too much for me.

  3. Probably not enough of a big deal to pull the plea deal…but seriously, this dude did not deserve a slap on the wrist. He is obviously not showing any remorse or regret.

  4. After what I suspect will be multiple civil lawsuits filed against him, it might be more accurate to say he’s soon-to-be bankrupt political pawn.

  5. How about triple x tee that says: “I helped my son buy an assault weapon which he used to kill 7 and injure 48 innocent people during a parade”

  6. I’m in agreement with 47th Ward. The criminal case was always a bit tenuous. But Crimo’s civil liability seems quite high. And stunts like this won’t help in that regard.

  7. =How about triple x tee that says=.

I’d settle for one that says “world’s worst dad.”

  8. Oh please spare me. I’ve seen less histrionics at the Pride Parade than this.

  9. Both father and son are MAGA so this is on point.

  10. The reason Crimo got such a sweetheart deal was that the case was far from a slam dunk. He agreed to sign paperwork for his son’s FOID card close to two years before the incident. The Lake County SA would have had to go back in time to prove that Crimo had no knowledge of the Defendents mental state back then and that the defendant had issues to begin with. After that there is no law that compels a family to file a “Red Flag” case against a family member. Remember, the defendant was 21 at the time of the shooting.

Perhaps I can interest you in the “histrionics” of the Highland Park 4th of July Parade this distinguished gentleman happily enabled.

Anyway, his podcast when he gets out sure will be something. I’m sure he’ll be cozying up with the Rittenhouse crowd.

  12. Nothing says “I’ve got as fat a head as my fat gut” like wearing that shirt.

And taking up a spare room at dad’s house. I doubt he checked in on his son or asked “what’s with the five guns?”

  14. “Unclear on the Concept.”

The judge should make him wear the shirt you suggest everyday for the rest of his life.

  16. His T-shirt should read, “I gassed my kid’s head up with hate and violence…proudly.”
