  7. The standard Halloween in Chicago is cold and wet enough that every costume is covered by a snorkel parka. Ballerina in a parka. Cowboy in a parka. Etc. Might as well just wear the parka and go as one of the cast from John Carpenter’s “The Thing”.

  10. Cold in Springfield. I usually get about 120 trick or treaters, but I’m thinking it won’t be that high this year.

  11. Snow and lots of adorable little ones running around in costume in the Bilandic

  12. Cold and sunny in BloNo. I covered my planters last night to keep the plants from freezing. I’m kind of worried if they will survive tonight’s predicted colder weather. The big pots I can moved into the garage but two planters are way too heavy.

I hope I get trick or treaters as I have a large quantity of candy to give out. I don’t want too much candy to be left to tempt me. I have lost over 40 pounds and do not want to gain any back!

  14. @ Nearly Normal -

Back in the day when I lived in the suburbs and got a lot of trick or treaters, I always bought candy I didn’t like. That way, I wouldn’t eat it beforehand and run out, but also, if there were leftovers, I’d take them to the office rather than eat them.
