  1. Rather chilly this morning, but the leftover chili should be all the better for it tonight.

  4. @Former ILSP

    I have been trying to figure out what to cook this week. I am inspired for chili. Plus, there is snow in the forecast.

  5. I am enjoying the bright sunshine after shooting a football playoff game in the cold rain Saturday night. Of course the team’s next playoff game is forecast to be in warmer sunny conditions but I will be out of town at a research conference :(

  6. ===I am inspired for chili.===

    I made a roast beef dinner last night that’s gonna be turned into beef and noodles for the week.

  7. Cold this morning in West Central IL. I hope it kills off the remaining pollen.

    I hope it kills the racism here too. It keeps raising its ugly head here, far too often.

  8. Halloween Chili is a thing for me. Make it for eats as the doorbell rings for tricks or treats.

    Plus, I’ll make enough to last until the following Sunday, (no matter where Halloween falls on a calendar) to eat for college football Saturday and NFL Sunday.

    It’s officially breaking the seal for me, if you will.

  9. Illini Mens basketball team defeated No. 1 Kansas. Granted it was an exhibition (actually a fundraiser for Maui), but the Illini played loose and well. The newcomers looked great too. I really hope to see more of this as the season starts and progresses. I’m cautiously optimistic.

  10. I just got wanded by Monterrey Security at McCormick Place apparently out of an abundance of caution about pro-bird protestors disrupting today’s MPEA board meeting.

    A weird start to what will probably be a very weird week.

  11. It will be a chilly Halloween tomorrow for the young ones. Raising the longstanding question for parents: put a jacket over the costume, or some sweaters under the costume?

  12. You gotta go under Bob.

  13. ===You gotta go under Bob. ===

    Yes. The first time I remember actively hating my parents was when they forced me to put a bulky winter coat on over my costume.

    I forgave them, but it took a while. lol
