I will be doing my first whole week in the Chicago office since COVID. Drove in today and was quicker than driving in during the early part of the week, but there was still traffic.

Just curious as to who the majority of Illinoians are rooting for in the World Series? I have a buddy who is a giant Texas fan so I suppose I’ll pull for them.

In this household, no one. For the better half, it’s Cards or bust, and I’m mostly looking forward to watching a replay of the RWC final tomorrow night.

Going to spend time this weekend with a group organizing efforts to communicate with Illinois legislators to extend the Invest in Kids program.
Truly grass roots effort in support of a much needed program in Chicago and other communities.

There are Pro-Palestine protestors outside the State’s 555 Monroe building blocking the entrances. Staff is being told to wait outside because ISP doesn’t have the manpower to move them & let us in.

Diamondbacks. I don’t have real skin in the game since the Cubs imploded at the end of the season. I like an underdog, and I loved our family vacation to Arizona last year, so that’s enough reason for me.

I will be kind of annoyed at the DBacks if they lose the last four games of the regular season to limp in the playoffs and still wind up winning it all but my husband pointed out Arizona voted the way we liked in the last election so I guess them.

Unlike the Super Bowl, you can’t watch “just for the commercials.” Except for those cited above, doubt there is much interest north of Oklahoma City, so the ratings should be pretty dismal.

I am going to root for Texas. For no other reason than they have never won a World Series. That and I do like their slick middle infield combination.

Employees at 555 were told to stay on their respective floor. Employees with badges now have in/out privileges. Building now closed to the public for the rest of the day.
