Been a wild ride in Joliet the past few weeks. Went from “We don’t know anything” to, well we knew but don’t support it. Then just yesterday to…

“D’Arcy on Monday acknowledged that he had signed a letter in July supporting state funding for a welcome center at the Spanish Community Center in Joliet.”

Must have slipped his mind.

Woke up to 37 degrees here in beautiful DuPage County. Pretty darn chilly for the season. Sunny and clear, though. This afternoon is supposed to be nice. I’ll just have some more coffee.

How bad must that process of getting buy-in by the supervisor if in the end it’s the application that was defeated not the sideshow items.

Also sounded like the application still did not have support of the city which it tried to portray in images and words.

Tough to make the city “the bad guy” when so much of what the process and the application seemed sketchy to support that should be widely known.

It’s wild only to so many miscues, hopefully lessons learned.

The Blackhawks are not by any stretch of the imagination “back”, but they are very watchable again. Bedard always does something interesting and the young D-Men are stepping up.

Surprised to see 33° this morning. The weatherman had said ten degrees warmer overnight, so we didn’t cover up the plants. They’re all perennials, so they should be ok but …

We’re working really hard to keep the school voucher scheme from taking money out of state coffers and public schools so that folks can send their kids to private schools. Sending a child to private school is a choice a parent can make, but they shouldn’t be doing it with public money.
