  1. Wind is picking up. The wind turbines sound like waves crashing on the shore. I love that sound as I was born at the ocean.

The farmers tell me the harvest is not as good as last year’s bumper crop, but not as bad as expected (a derecho came through here last June). When the talk about yields, I do not get the impression they are scared yet.

Here’s to a good harvest season across the state.

  3. It’s marching band season. There are competitions across the state every Saturday this month. Go out and support your local musicians. If you haven’t seen a high school marching band competition in a while, they have changed SO much. You will be floored.
