Pretty dominant pitching performance by Hendricks last night in the Crosstown Classic. Little hiccup in the 7th. Nice overall performance by the Cubs. Don’t mind making management think about being buyers at the trade deadline.

Preparing for a hot day outside by getting things done early in the AM. Tomorrow it is projected to be 99 F in southern and northern Illinois. Stay safe!

Nothing special happening in Southern Illinois today except another HEAT ALERT and at least through tomorrow evening
On another note, I was reminded this morning that Mick Jagger turns 80 today. I can remember seeing The Stones playing at the Assembly Hall in 1969, my Junior year at the U of I. And who opened for them - none other than BB King and Ike and Tina Turner. This just reminds me how old I have become and how great our music was back then.

great talk on the Score about the analysis of the Cubs last night. they played a section of Jason and Stoney which had smart talk about the pitching. the Sox are certainly bad, but Jason and Stoney are the best. even when saying nice and detailed things about the Cubs

First world problems.
We went for pizza last night and they were out of mushrooms(bp)
We went ahead and ordered a pizza without mushrooms, something I have not done for like 40 years. It was barbarically cruel(bp). How do people eat pizza without mushrooms?

Sheriffs who signed this contra-democratic pledge must be replaced…
