  1. really could use some rain. Woke up to AQI alerts, apparently from the wildfire smoke. Lot of coughing in my house, although I would have thought it was pollen if the alert hadn’t told me it was smoke.

  2. Any day that goes from 55 in the morning to 75 in the afternoon is OK with me. Time to mow the yard.

  3. Bridge backed down. The Baxter site in play again. It is humbling to see the power of a community working together for the good of the community.

  4. Beautiful day in central Illinois despite the high-altitude wildfire smoke. Taking client calls from the porch. Get you some of that while you can!

  6. The latest Drought Index map is up. All of Illinois except the immediate Springfield area, as well as parts of Montgomery and Christian counties, are in at least some level of drought.

The areas not yet in drought were those areas that got innundated by the May 7 and May 14 heavy rains (the earlier date was the day that Chatham had the big, prolonged hail storm).

  7. The local Rotary club is holding their annual porkchop lunch on the square. So we’ve got that going for us, which is nice.
