Waiting for an AFSCME contract. Hoping for 6% raises, would settle on 5%, but praying for at least 4%.

Last night’s Senate Human Services Approps. hearing was eye opening. Multiple areas of need asking for rate increases or budget assistance.
Kudos to Sen. Gillespie who kept the committee and witness on task and on time. Handling any committee, especially a human services appropr. committee can be nightmare, she runs the committee with a professional touch and firm hand without making advocates and witness upset.

There was a random drawing nearby to determine the outcome of a tied school board race. The ‘hate church’ candidate won the drawing and will be seated on the school board.

The exurbs of Chicago are beautiful this morning. Maybe the White Sox will heat up with the weather.

It’s a a beautiful sunny day in Chicago, so I went over to 53rd and Prairie to see Amanda Willliams’ installation, Redefining Redlining: https://www.redefiningredlining.com/ I recommend checking it out, but do it soon, because the tulips won’t last much longer.

Over the last Winter, all of my T-shirts shrunk…all of them…but only around the belly…strangely.
