  2. Awesome Isabel….. how else would we know immediately that there is a handwritten note with McC duties for Madigan. wow.

  3. We should start a pool on which legislators will be called as witnesses, and whether they are cooperating or hostile.

  4. ==”Cotter: “Mike Madigan’s staff negotiated every significant, complicated bill that ever became before the General Assembly. Not just ComEd bills. All of them. That’s their job.”==

That sure seems like an admission of a key part of the prosecution case — that Madigan was in control of the fate of all major legislation in Springfield.

Staff, no matter how talented, are not elected. Legislators are.

  5. Lobbying is on trial.

All these openings, it’s about “how they do it” as opposed to “look what they did”

After all the 1,000,000 documents, 100 recordings… “do you believe lobbying is illegal”

This is Illinois and Chicago, savvy both… “we’ll see”… it’s too early.

  6. @OW-

There are many types of lobbyists and many ways to lobby. But McClain and the “most trusted of the trusted” operated on a whole other level.

It’s that type of lobbying, where the top of the heap squeezes you for money and jobs to pay for private patronage in order to support a non-public political army that’s on trial here.

Most lobbyists in the state Capitol do not operate this way. Just a chosen few

    The law is the law.

Like it said, it’s about lobbying, heck, you say so yourself…

===Most lobbyists in the state Capitol do not operate this way. Just a chosen few===

Now let’s see if it’s criminal, I’m not arguing the ethics, I’m not arguing for exoneration or acquittal… but you say so yourself, it’s about this art that these 4 are engaged in, all alleged, and the legality.

    So… there’s that I guess.

    “We’ll see”
