  1. ==Lightfoot scolds rivals during testy mayoral forum for trying ‘to mansplain’ and ‘treat me like I’m some child’==

Um, maybe it would help if you acted like an adult all the time while governing?

  2. “Garcia, Vallas and Lightfoot in dead heat in Chicago mayor’s race”

And Undecided remains tied for second place.

  3. Lightfoot epitomizes the word “testy” all by herself…

  4. COGFA’s report is good news. Now we just need to hope the GA holds spending flat, or close to it, and uses any excess to pay down pension debt and increase school funding.

Plus fix DCFS and other agencies that have had problems in recent years.

  6. So the ISP Registry went out of compliance in 2011. Wasn’t that in the middle of Pat Quinn’s crusade that reduced state employee headcount from 55K to under 50K?

  7. Glad to see the Chicago mayoral candidates discuss education issues.
One item of note for me was candidate Brandon Johnson addressing the Vallas record in New Orleans where he pointed out that the school system was “privatized”.
I suppose I would think the issue we should look at is whether or not the educational system was improved under Paul Vallas.
Again not suggesting I am an expert on education, but news sources that can be looked up on our friend Google indicate the outcomes or results for the children improved after the system was “privatized”.
Perhaps significantly increasing charter schools or assisting private schools could have the same positive effect for children in Chicago and the rest of Illinois.

As the article explains, this compliance issue arises from the Legislative branch, not the Executive branch: “To comply with SORNA, legislators would have to amend Illinois law to change the tiering structure; a minimum of 15 years with annual registration, 25 years with registration every six months, or lifetime with quarterly registration.” (emphasis added)

  9. Gotta love the CenterSquare approach to “journalism”. They run item on evidence exclusion, but “forget” to report the prosecutors agreed. Solid work
