A very early morning for me, but a good one so far. First time since the pandemic started that I was able to get a good run in on my treadmill.

Today’s update is that my community in Little Egypt is increasingly having issues with people illegally racing cars near residential areas and on dangerous rural roads late at night.
I remember it being discussed as an issue in Chicago a while back, but it’s a nice little reminder that our problems aren’t always that different outside the metro.

Happy Birthday Isabel.
Last night (this morning) was once again a reminder you could not sit down and design a more ridiculous, convoluted and inefficient way to do business than the way the General Assembly works.
As my wife says, “if lawmakers, staffers and lobbyist ran the fire department houses would burn down while you guys debated if the house was on fire, what color of fire truck should be called and whether or not turn the water on when you got to the fire”.
Wise words.

Not in our office, and I’m in a union. Now another union’s employees within my said office get a birthday holiday, but not the employees represented by the union that covers my job title.

In some good news, I was at a children’s hospital in the Chicago area last night (volunteer), and it seemed like there were more open beds than I had seen in a while. A pal says they are also hearing the same thing about a larger children’s hospital in the area.
