* From US Rep. Brad Schneider’s campaign…

Hey all - I wanted to make sure that you were the first to see Brad’s new positive ad “Brad’s Our Guy,” which will begin running on Tuesday on Chicago-area TV and in digital ads.

The ad highlight’s Brad’s focus on getting costs down, lowering prescription drug prices, and doing the work to prevent gun violence and protecting women’s freedom to choose.

* Ad

* Script…

Voter 1: Hey Brad! How’s our guy?

Voter 2: Brad’s our guy because when prices were going up, he brought our taxes down.

Voter 3: I appreciate how he’s fighting to lower prescription drug prices.

Voter 4: With all these politicians yelling at each other, I appreciate how Brad puts his head down and does the work. Preventing gun violence…

Voter 5: and protecting women’s freedom to choose.

Voter 2: Brad’s our guy.

Voter 4: Our guy.

Voter 5: Our guy.

Brad: I’m Brad Schneider and I approve this message.

    LOVE the messaging. Took a little off because the regular folks seemed a little stiff.

    It’s fine, he’s fine, I’m obviously going to vote for him, and the other guy is a flat-out lunatic. He’s a little centrist when the district has moved more liberal (i.e., the taxes point in the ad) and he has the charisma of a fence post. But it’s fine, he’s fine, and not mentioning his opponent is a good choice. Because that guy is a) not in touch with consensus reality and b) an absolute non-entity in the race.

  5. OK. I know who “Brad” is and what office he holds and wants to keep. But not everybody who sees this ad knows that. The minimal use of his surname and only the written mention that he is running for congress in the 10th makes this ad pretty useless, especially if one is only hearing it- not seeing it. I would have sent this ad back to the ad agency if I were his campaign staff. Yes, it’s positive and inoffensive which is a plus in this climate. But it doesn’t do anything to sell the candidate listed on the ballot. So have to rate it a C.

  6. Brad’s been campaigning and working so hard that he has had time to sit through Northwestern Football games recently. LOL. Maybe he can draw up a few plays to help breaking the four game losing streak.

  7. The minimum required when you don’t have a real race. Solid ad. A-

  8. This is a good positive ad and accurate.

    I’ll give it an A. However if the rest of the class turns in the same thing, I’m dropping it to a B-. This only works when it appears genuine and original.

  9. Now that I think about it, Brad Schneider might be a kind of spirit animal for a lot of IL Dems these days, “Hey you might not particularly like or love me, but I’m basically fine and seem competent, and oh by the way have you looked closely at my opponent recently?”

  10. A like the message and the way the sign handoff happens. even if I think Brad Schneider is kinda meh.

  11. And what exactly has this guy done while in office. NOTHING. Hopeless and Hapless. Poor constituent service as well. He has no opposition since the other guy is truly worse than nothing. Hardly resembles what the 10th District once was under previous Congressmen.

  12. Joliet gram - even were that indictment true (and for the record, I don’t think it is) - well, welcome to the lament of Democrats everywhere across the nation, stuck in more blue collar districts with some truly mediocre Republican U.S. Congress critters. IL-10 is one of the districts the national Republican Party wrote off when it embraced Trumpism. Given the paucity of truly affluent, college educated districts like IL-10, it seems like a trade off the national GOP seems happy to have made, on net.

    Anyone taking bets on whether JB Pritzker actually carries Lake Forest , this time around?
