Bailey, again, successfully avoids saying what he would or could do.
Has he actually presented anything about himself or his proposed policies for anything?

This is simply another word jumble that only his most devoted followers would understand.
Most of us would not know how to react if he would ever utter a cogent statement that addresses a particular problem or issue. I am not waiting for that to happen.

Very weak response from Mr. bailey. In addition to what Homebody and Willy and btowntruth said, if he really wants the border fixed, which he really doesn’t, he should contact Congress who has the power. Oh and they don’t want to fix it either, by the way, or they would have. I’m sure he knows all that being he knows so much.

But seriously, the questions I’d ask this guy, the Most Reverend Pastor of Facebook Live are the following in this order:
1. Do you believe that the Bible contains the literal commandments of the Creator?
2. Can you comment on the applicability of Deuteronomy 27:19 “Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.’ ?
3. What say you to the message of Hebrews 1, ‘ Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.’
4. Your savior spoke in Matthew 25 about feeding, clothing, and comforting strangers. If elected, how would these instructions guide your administration?

Somebody should remind DeBose that it’s Governor Pritzker and President Biden. He should show a little respect for the office to which his boss aspires. Someday, maybe, he might expect that same sort of respect if he can manage to get his candidate elected to something.

About the only thing Bailey has said that I agree with. Why should the border states be responsible for managing what is a crisis created in DC. If Biden wants to have unlimited migration into the US at our Southern Border- the federal govt should be picking up 100 percent of the costs- not TX AZ NM NV and CA

Immigration and crime are the second most important issues to Republican voters and Bailey is running as a Republican
Democrats are severely underwater on immigration so perhaps a dose of reality is in order

It’s actually a fairly bland statement by Bailey. There has been complaints for a while now that some places near the border are being overwhelmed by the number of asylum seekers. I don’t know if this give us a look of the Rio Grande Valley’s difficulties so much as it will disperse what has been localized. Bailey’s statement alluding to the case backlog also seems like it shouldn’t rile people up.

Another complaint heard from the party of aggrievement.
I just visited Darren’s website. Nowhere on the homepage does DB mention he is a Senator, or refer to himself as Senator.
It says:
“Meet Darren Bailey
A farmer, family man, and fellow citizen from rural Illinois, Darren Bailey’s conservative roots run deep.”
Here’s the irony. Darren Bailey is from Xenia. The town takes its name from the Greek, Xenos, which roughly means, “hospitality to strangers”. It was based on a belief adopted by early Christians that strangers were to be treated even better than family, because any stranger who shows up could in fact be a god, like Zeus, who had a habit of disguising himself and visiting mortals quite regularly. Thus his full name, Zeus Xenios, “Zeus, Protector of Strangers.
You see where I am going here, Right? Xenos is where we get the
Word “xenophobia,” fear of strangers. Which is what Sir Trumpsalot and his band of knights are, and what feeds their campaign.
Whether it’s Chinese students, Chicagoans, journalists, or transgender athletes, or drag queens or Venezuelan immigrants, whomever is different is clearly the source of all of our pain and troubles.

Where are all these churches Bailey talks about. Shouldn’t the be stepping up to help people?
We just gave the local diocese millions of dollars of forgiven PPP loans. Not a single peep out of them on this issue.
If the US is supposedly a christian nation, as Bailey is wont to say, then were are all these christians?

Bailey’s comments show us nothing. He couldn’t even man up and make a statement himself, not like he isn’t on fb live daily. And Abbott is a complete coward for doing this. He uses his power and authority to take advantage of vulnerable people. Like any good christian.

Lemme think..Darren Bailey might well hire them to work on his farm. Speculating here, but many farmers in Illinois use migrant labor (mostly immigrants from Central and South America) to do seasonal work. It’s not a stretch to wonder if farmer Bailey relies on such labor.

My maternal grandfather did, and complained about the Soviet-style social security program, yet took PIK (payment in kind) payments throughout the 1980s. Please don’t expect intellectual consistency from Illinois farmers.

Former high level immigration official was on tonight’s news - there is an average of 7,000 people a day crossing the border illegally. How can any reasonable person possibly say the border is closed?
Chicago gets two busloads - that is a drop in bucket of what the border states deal with on a constant basis.

Hmmm… Biden was holding a rare prime-time address last night after an entire week of increasingly embarrassing revelations about what top-secret and higher documents were found squirreled away at Mar-A-Lago. So I’m gonna guess that interview with the immigration guy wasn’t on ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, WGN, ESPN, or Lifetime. Just a hunch. Wonder why they went with the immigration story?

Net immigration in 2021 was 247K the lowest figure in decades and roughly 75% lower than the peak of 1M around 2015. It has in fact created real challenges in the labor market that relies on immigrant workers.
We are a country built on immigrants and we can all trace our lineage back to grandparents that immigrated to this country from elsewhere. Now many of those people may have been of European descent. And that seems to be the unspoken part of many of these complaints. They simply don’t like the where these immigrants are coming from. Because the majority of immigrants arrive in this country in the same way we arrive in theirs - on a plane.

All true, except for the fact that, for Darren Bailey and his ilk, that definition is expanded to include, “…strangers who look like me.” If they don’t look like Darren, they don’t deserve that hospitality. That’s the real Darren Bailey and today’s GOP extremists.
