  3. Masking recommendations (but not required presently) are back at UIUC. 20.44% positivity rate as of last Wednesday on campus.

Fortunately I’m not planning to give up the public masking anytime soon.

  5. Yanks-Angels was entertaining last night. That team may be trash, but I’ll tune in to watch Trout and Ohtani any day of the week. Ohtani hit a dinger and Trout made an outstanding catch a few feet short of the wall to end the game.

  6. The “most embarrasing” 2022 moment for the White Sox keeps changing. (1) May 9 blew a 6-run lead in the top of the 9th and lost in 11 innings; (2) July 4 featured a 8-5 triple play with the Sox losing in 10 innings; and (3) Adam Engel’s dropping a fly ball that would have ended the game an August 25, which was lost in the 11th inning.

Each of these was terrible, but with sloppy defensive play, meager power hitting, and a generally somnolent atmosphere promoted by LaRussa, it’s clear this is a craptastic team.

Ohtani’s sprint to first base was remarkable https://twitter.com/8ln5ajnbugpzpff/status/1564468958505631744

  8. Can the City of Chicago use drones in the fight against street stunt driving? Or did that ACLU don’t follow protesters with drones push mean it cannot be used in this situation. drones being used elsewhere on the street stunting. Secretly wishing the police would have a paintball gun drone that hits the cars doing the donuts to mark them.

    Corporate nonsense‼

I’m gonna do my level best to drag summer deep into October.

  10. ===Can the City of Chicago use drones in the fight against street stunt driving?===

Unfortunately, not under current state law. There have been several attempts to slightly expand law enforcement’s ability to use drones in Illinois (e.g. large events such as Lolla, to defend against Las Vegas or Highland Park-type shooting events), but to no avail.

  11. == Can the City of Chicago use drones in the fight against street stunt driving? ==

Not directly. But what would prevent a private citizen from using a drone, then either contributing said footage to CPD, or just publicly posting the video and letting CPD find it?
