A recent poll by RMG Research in the 8th Congressional District shows Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi leading Republican Chris Dargis 45 percent to 39 percent with 12 percent undecided. The 400 respondents in the poll also favored term limits and disapprove of President Joe Biden’s job performance.
Some of those numbers are three weeks old. And at last check, Raja had $12.7 million cash on hand.

The unspoken, yet very real concern among some Democrats, is that the party is returning to an unhealthy era of one man control, with Pritzker and his subordinates taking the place of Madigan.
“I guess that remains to be seen and we’ll know fairly quickly, ” said Rep. [Will] Davis. “Not only the effort to raise money but then determining how to spend it. If it’s about supporting incumbent Democrats then we’ll know fairly quickly if there’s going to be a resurgence of dictator-style rule.”
[Former Senate President John Cullerton] sees it differently. “There’s an opportunity for someone who can go out and fundraise legally, a chairman, to go out and make it a national effort to raise money for the Democratic Party in Illinois, ” said Cullerton. “We’ve never done that. When Madigan was chair, he only raised money for House Democrats. This would be for the lower-level candidates – the sheriffs and county clerks in the marginal counties downstate. Robin couldn’t do that legally. So of course Elizabeth’s going to raise more than Robin did. Almost by default.”
I’m guessing that Pritzker isn’t gonna want to be governor for 50 years.

Paul Lange believes someone should always have a choice when they walk into a voting booth.
Lange, 67, is recently retired commodities broker who worked in Quincy but lives near Mendon. He has thrown his hat into the ring to run as the Democratic candidate for Illinois’ 15th Congressional District.
It was a district that wasn’t configured to be favorable for Democrats, who had to cede most of downstate Illinois during the redistricting process. Most of the state south of I-80 now votes Republican.
So Lange is looking for a Rocinante, much less a Sancho Panza. He knows his opponent, Republican incumbent Congresswoman Mary Miller, who defeated Rodney Davis in the June 28 GOP primary, is one hell of a windmill in the bright red 15th District.
“I knew because of this district … I knew it’d be unlikely that another person would step up on the Democratic side,” Lange said in an interview with Muddy River News.
Donald Trump won that district by 39 points.

Are we supposed to take the Fioretti campaign seriously? Not sure who looks more pathetic, Fioretti for standing with republicans or the Cook County republican party for having a unabashed progressive atop the ticket.

Maybe, but I’m not convinced that’s the goal of this conversation.
I’m of the opinion that Griffin didn’t ‘misspeak’ when he made a statement about term limits for Illinois governors a few weeks ago. It wasn’t an accident. It was purposeful and in my take, is going to be the next “But Madigan” the ILGOP is going to use. That these stories laying that groundwork of an emerging new dynasty adds even more credence to it - no matter how not true it is, because when has that ever been important for the ILGOP lately.
I will pretend to be surprised when the rudderless house GOP starts ‘demanding’ the democrats in the house allow for a governor term-limits advisory question be put on the statewide ballot, immediately after JB wins his second term.

Couple quick thoughts?
* Kathy Salvi leaning in on the pro-life “thing” as a platform for her, the reason it’s a “thing” isn’t that the issue is passive or unbelievable in Salvi’s own beliefs, it’s that is a minority position in Illinois, while taking on an already popular incumbent. Good luck with all that.
* The real sour grapes by the losers around Kelly losing support via the loss of entitled and elitist committeemen losing, Rich has if right; Pritzker, I think it’s safe to say, isn’t planning on winning every 4 years for the next 50… as the governor. It’s quite sad.
* “Bob Fioretti - Get All Your Money Up Front”. Candidates are defined by the company they keep, not just the pictures that reinforce it. Man, that’s… a group

Duckworth ad, B- Sure repeating over and over that Salvi is pro life scares lefties, but not having her crucial words on tape is an issue. also just saying pro life is not as scary as some think.

I understand Kathy Salvi still possesses staunchly pro-life views and was endorsed by pro-life groups. But, when your only source for her supporting no exceptions for abortion is an interview she gave back in 2006, I think the overall narrative loses some credibility…especially when considering the views Democratic politicians like Sen. Obama and Sen. Clinton held on another social issue, same-sex marriage, in 2006.

Mike Flannery gave Salvi plenty of opportunity to moderate her record opposing all exceptions:

Bob embracing Darren Bailey and Devore and masquerading as a Republican is just so Bob. His new slogan? Fioretti: no shame whatsoever.
I do admit one thing. Even I was surprised by his appearance with Bailey and Devore. Wow.
