  4. Just finished watching a JB campaign ad the captures Bailey praying and thanking God for the overturning Roe V Wade. It’s so sad that a Christian prayer has to be used to win an election. JB needs to win but anyone who identifies as a Christian will most certainly feel embarrassed.

  5. If you observe the sacred holidays of Summer Fridays, then yes, today is “Friday”.

It can be, call it quits, and turn off the blog until Monday. Enjoy the golf tournament that is in town this weekend.

  8. Another terrific day in beautiful DuPage County. Not the least because Giolito looked like his old self last night. Now, if they could stop the errors and the baserunning problems, they might win some games??

  9. === It’s so sad that a Christian prayer has to be used to win an election. ===

Sad that Bailey used prayer as part of campaigning, or that Pritzker used the clip of him doing that?

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.”

  13. Is Brad Davis related to Rodney Davis? Brad is the new owner of six of the seven McDonald’s restaurants in Springfield (purchasing them from the McGraw family when they retired).

Today’s SJ-R had an article on upcoming renovations to some of the McDonalds in town, including the one on West Jefferson closest to the Capitol:

  14. Just - yes. Brad is Rodney’s older brother.

Their dad owned a few (and may still owned one or two) but has stepped back/down over the last few years.

  15. Read in the Trib’s Real Estate section John Kass has moved to St. John’s Indiana. In 2019, his property tax bill in Western Springs was $16,432. His 2021 tax bill in St. John’s is $2,796.
    Guess he’s downsizing.

  21. ==Tonight.==

I’m surprised this afternoon wasn’t a day game for the Cubs. Usually it seems like most of their Thursday and Friday games at home are during the day.

Downsizing his expensive Illinois property taxes; much lower in Indiana, even in St. John, which is booming with expensive new homes as Chicago and Cook County resident flee for safer environs, a state that isn’t broke, etc.

    Huh. Interesting.

You’d think if it’s all that great Kass woulda bragged about it… in 2020… you don’t find it odd Kass didn’t… you know… brag he’s away from…” safer environs, a state that isn’t broke, etc.”

Grifting needed Kass to hide he moved.

Grifting needed Kass to complain about Chicago.

Can’t grift if you leave… unless you’re Proft, but I digress.

    :)
