I don’t understand why they work so hard to squeeze and scam the little fish 20 or 50 bucks at a time when there’s a hundred Ken Griffins out there willing to blow 50 million apiece on a lark.

I get these, too; they’re definitely creepy.
Thing is, you never actually lose your ID privileges. They’ll still hit you up for cash. It’s like they want to desensitize the base to threats of losing your ID.

I suppose some fundraising technique genius convinced them that abusive threats are effective. For the MAGA-Trump party, threatening people for non-compliance is so on brand.

I don’t say this about many subjects, but both sides really are bad on this. They’re the experts, but this strategy strikes me as counterproductive. I know I’m less likely to make small donations knowing that it invites a deluge of electronic abuse. And a lot of the folks who get snared by this garbage are elderly people whose children then need to untangle recurring donations. Seems like the $20/mo or whatever would get eaten up by the staff time devoted to getting yelled at by the children of the people you scammed it out of.

Republicans are calling Adam Kinzinger and Lynn Cheney RINOs when they voted with Trump 96% and 99% of the time, respectively. It’s not a party of values, it is a party of blind loyalty to a god emperor and the vitriol he spews. It’s a party not of policy but of doing things with the sole motivation of “owning the libz”. They have no plans to govern, only fear to peddle. Heck, they don’t even believe in elections anymore.
And because of the way we set up this country, they currently run half of it. A lot more if you look at the judicial appointments that we’ll be stuck with for decades (and I’m not just talking Supreme).
Lord help us
