  1. What kind of bizarro world are we living in where people are tripping over themselves to get Darren Baileys’s endorsement. My god the illinois republicans are in a very sad place.

  2. Chicago needs a new PR firm. As if “Chicago Not in Chicago” wasn’t a goofy enough slogan, we have a new one: “When you go, you know”. The jokes just write themselves.

  3. Monthly energy bill from our co-op provider arrived. 40% increase over prior months bill and I hadn’t turned on the a/c until two days prior.

  4. Hopefully everyone made it through the strong storms that came across Central and Southern Illinois this morning. We got battered by strong winds here in Louisville. Lots of limbs and whole trees down. Power has been out a couple of hours now. I expect they will be picking up mangled Bailey yard signs and Confederate flags all around the area today.

  5. Chicago just needs to hire Sherman Dilla Thomas. “Everything Dope Comes from Chicago” is a perfect slogan.

  6. Lack of media curiousity seems be growing. GOPie SOS candidate and Trump DOJ appointee claims to want to root out corruption in state govt after spending 4 years doing zip in SPI…AND is not asked/forgets to mention who won 2020 election, does he want Trump to endorse, is he goin’ to MAGA rally in Quincy.
    Amazing

  8. Sandwich HS had to cancel their Varsity football season due to low numbers (only 18 Juniors and Seniors), it is going to be interesting to see if other schools end up having to do this.

Did they consider going to 8-man football (which has saved football in some small schools before deciding on the cancellation)? Or is 18 juniors and seniors too small for even an 8-man team?

Maybe the Cubs could sign him. 10 losses in a row and hopefully more this weekend.

  11. Despite was Pritzker says, I think he does have eyes on the oval office. He can say he only has plans to help others but my guess is he is wading into the shallow end. Test the waters it could be ok given what is going on.

But I’m sure it won’t cloud his decision-making and dominate his thought process during the rest of his administration. Unlike a particular He Who Shall Not Be Named was 15-20 years ago.

  13. Illinois will always have a piece of Steve Kerr. Congrats to his team on winning the NBA Championship. his record as a coach and player…for the Bulls and Spurs…is quite impressive. 4 as a coach and 5 as a player, 3 for the Bulls. I can still see that jump shot to win it all. Old days…..

  14. Today I received my 3000th (or so it seems) mailer from the Irvin campaign. Today it informs me that Irvin will “stand up to Lori Lightfoot and Kim Foxx.” Considering that I live in a small town in rural central Illinois, I wonder what I am to make of this?
