  1. Uhm…La Russa?

  2. When Richard Irvin made the deal to run for Governor, I really thought that was a bad idea for him. If the recent polls are correct, Mayor Irvin’s political career may be over. Seems like a waste for him.

  3. Even when LaRussa is awake he’s asleep…

  5. Good morning fellow Sox fans. I was at the beautiful park on a lovely day for the Sox game yesterday Nuff said.

  6. We (Effingham) are expected to get 13 days of temps in the 90s, even hitting 100 a couple days next week. Time for those rolling power grid blackouts to hit us. Also, I got gas yesterday, and just for fun, drove around the pump islands to check out how much it was costing other drivers. Average was over $100! (Glad I drive a Corolla, but still….)

  7. The Sox need a spark. Time to bring back Yermin Mercedes.

  8. I hope there an oral history of the LaRussa walk some day. I would read hundreds of interviews about it. One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in a baseball game.

  9. We pretend that billionaires are good at money management but I just watched Ken Griffen set 53 million dollars on fire. Food for thought.

  10. If anyone hasn’t seen top gun maverick, it’s awesome. Movies are back

  11. >We pretend that billionaires are good at money management but I just watched Ken Griffen set 53 million dollars on fire. Food for thought.

Old news, but he got a tax cut at the height of the recession while people were hurting and services being cut. He’ll make more than he ever spent defeating the fair tax. The past doesn’t predict the future, but I think he’ll do OK, whatever happens.

  12. The Sox loss yesterday was disappointing. I did see AJ in the booth talking to Stoney about a broadcast career and now talk of him taking over for LaRusso. This old Sox fan would LOVE for that to happen.

  13. =Time to bring back Yermin Mercedes.=

He’s not exactly hitting the cover off the ball down in Charlotte. I think his career will ultimately be defined by one spectacular month before pitchers figured him out.

Hard to know what LaRussa is doing these days. The Phillies seemed to have gotten a spark by parting company with Girardi. Another my way or the highway type manager who does better with veterans than young guys. Could LaRussa be next?

  14. ===Time for those rolling power grid blackouts to hit us===

    Likely too early for that.

Any chance the Green New Deal can be passed in time to help?

  16. DeVore is on twitter and it’s hilarious. He’s complaining about Twitter Trolls, JB, Griffin and Durkin. He’s also running a poll on the GOP primary candidates for Governor. Not all made the cut.

  17. where will Trump go if he comes here for Bailey? we already have one site for the Saudi funded golf tour out in Sugar Grove, so maybe there is a convergence of enablers out there.

  18. As a Sox fan I wonder often what it’d be like to root for a normal team.

  19. — Mercedes is “not exactly hitting the ball off the cover”
Truth. But he delivered a spark before LaRussa sent him packing, and they do need a spark. Especially Yasmani.

Comment by Medvale School for the Gifted Friday, Jun 10, 22 @ 9:57 am

  20. Perhaps the chemicals on La Russia’s head are seeping into his brain.

    Happy Pride, y’all.

  22. In 2004, Barry Bonds was intentionally walked 120 times with about a dozen of those being issued after the at-bat began. None were issued on a 1-2 count, none were even issued with 2 strikes. If you believe that Trea Turner is scarier than God-Mode Barry Bonds, you deserve to be fired.

  23. Watching the House Committee last night, I was reminded of all the Republican strategists who said for years they did not understand Kinzinger’s play. They have set themselves up for the super minority for a looooooong time now.

Comment by Dirty Red Friday, Jun 10, 22 @ 11:49 am

  24. During the House Committee hearing last night, they said roughly 800 people are facing charges related to the Jan. 6 riot.

After they showed some of their video segments last night, I’m wondering how many additional calls the FBI will get for people who were previously unidentified.

(And are Enrique Tarrio and Stuart Rhodes sweating prison, given the filmmaker embedded with the Proud Boys? Can’t imagine the Aryan Nation will be happy to see them.)

  25. Tony still can’t manage pitchers. It was always sketch with Duncan around. Now ?
