  1. Where are we going? And that debate last night, well not sure what to say about it. Seemed like more of the same from the last two from last month.

  2. Irvin will have 4 months to learn how to answer direct questions if he wins the Primary. Totally a non-issue for a well qualified candidate /s

  3. Voted early this week. No waiting.

  4. If anyone is any good at playing baseball, please go help my White Sox team…please, please.

  5. For pro-lifers, Richard Irvin’s performance last night was the final nail in the coffin.

  6. My Chicago library is an early voting site and every election we have a few people who hear on the news that “early voting has now started” and come in expecting to vote. They don’t listen long enough to hear “only at the downtown supersite.”

    First world problems, I guess.

  7. What has happened to the ILGOP? I can’t see how any of the candidates on stage last night can hope to win back moderate suburban voters. Even if I were to suspend belief and accept that JB Pritzker was responsible for a crime wave, I saw no one remotely capable of addressing it. The GOP used to covet college educated suburban voters. Now they seem intent on insulting their intelligence.

  8. I will not be going downtown tomorrow, but just making an observation. Downtown Springfield is going to be hard to traverse tomorrow. All 3 Springfield public high school graduations, plus Chatham Glenwood graduation, all at the Center. Topped off with street closures downtown because of the Legacy of Giving music festival, and you now have a downtown travel situation tomorrow that’s not for the faint of heart.

  9. $5.99 for gas.

  10. $5.99 for gas.

I’m not sure what your point is, but given the context of the post, here is my response: The Governor, whoever it may be, has little control over the price of gas. Sure there is the gas tax. However the tax itself does not impact whether overall fuel prices rise or fall.

  11. My bad, I thought I was on another post. This is an open thread.

  12. Response to Chicago J - Friday, Jun 3, 22 @ 9:25 am ref early voters/voting. Suburban Cook County has their courthouses doing it June 1-3, 6-10, then 13 through the 27th. Non-courthouse sites start the 13th. So much for uniformity.

  13. It is a sad day. I did not get my daily oversized postcard from Irvin.

  14. We will soon be joining others in Birkenstocks and socks for the Carillon Festival. I always tease the cops assigned there about the challenges in handling such a rowdy crowd.

In addition to the stuff downtown and the Carillon Festival, Little Flower Heritage Days is back on the south side again this year.
