  6. From hotter than heck Tuesday night to break out the comforter last night. (Try to avoid the A/C as much as I can.)

The White Sox are a mystery this year. I’m not sure how they managed to be this close to .500 after watching several games this season. Not a good feeling for this season.

  10. Since no one mentioned it, there was a police officer shot yesterday in Chicago, and at this time, not sure if the assailants were caught.

  11. I had to make another gallon of sun tea because the first batch was weak. should have left it out longer.

  12. Well, after 2+ years of pretty cautious behavior, went to a wedding this weekend. Yep, yesterday Covid + with “mild” symptoms - which, in the real world, means fever, cough, fatigue. Fully vaxxed so confident it will be no worse than a rough cold — but still nasty.

When I told my elderly parents about it last night (they’re in MI), they said they had scratchy throats. I told them to test - and, yep, positive.

My Dr says the published case stats are off by a factor of 10 given the number of at-home tests.

    Be Safe

  16. To WestBurbs: “COVID will send no warning, so always wear your face mask”.
(Modified from Brit WWII poster warning civilians that Hitler won’t warn them, so always carry their gas masks).
Why people think we’re ‘back to normal’ is beyond me; we’re plainly not, even with vaccines and some new treatments.

  17. thisjustinagain - -yep but, to be clear, I’m not a post-covid guy. I’m actually pretty aware and cautious. But decided to roll the dice with an important wedding — and lost….

More to the point… how many of you all continue to never eat indoors or attend any indoor events?
