  1. Almost identical to Milhiser’s ad.

Comment by Steve Rogers Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 8:48 am

  2. Yeah, but what has he done to help the spread of disease in our schools, and what has he done to force our schools to spend scare dollars defending themselves against junk lawsuits?

Comment by Southern Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:00 am

  3. To the ad itself, C-. Production values are kinda cheap, and oof, Kim just has no screen presence.

More broadly, though, he’s on the air, and that’s good for him.

Comment by Arsenal Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:10 am

  4. C-because I’m feeling generous.

These ads make vanilla look like rocky road.

    Comment by Flyin' Elvis'-Utah Chapter Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:11 am

  5. I’d give it a B-. Nothing particularly compelling but tracks with the talking points I would expect from the GOP candidate for AG. Kim’s delivery might be better suited for the court room rather than the campaign trail.

  6. D - Empty Suit; Deer in Grif’s Headlights

Comment by PublicServant Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:33 am

  7. Yikes, he’s terrible on camera.

Comment by The Captain Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:39 am

  8. D- didn’t say Devore voted for Obama

Comment by Rabid Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:47 am

  9. Surprisingly bad production quality…even with all that Grif money, all of his candidates seem to be phoning it in?

Also, after a few runs for office, you really would think Kim would be better on camera…

Comment by NIU Grad Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 9:49 am

  10. The thumbnail …. not flattering. Besides Devore who else is running on the R side for AG?

Comment by The Way I See It Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:00 am

  11. Steve Kim’s gonna have a rude awakening once he realizes that there’s way way way more to the job of AG than investigating Mike Madigan. You’d think he’d know that after running for the job once before.

Comment by WorkingFromMyDiningRoom Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:01 am

  12. My first thought was, who?
Then, what is he running for?

Comment by Bruce( no not him) Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:12 am

  13. C. This ad is not bad, not good. It is just standard fare? I am somewhat surprised there was no mention of the alternative - Kim or DeVore. It would be quite easy to run against DeVore, at least in the realm of public opinion. DeVore has carved out a very small niche. DeVore wants to burn down the house, and build a gulag for politicians (except of course himself who is a politician). Kim should have at the very least mentioned the choice between funding police, ending corruption, etc., and radical lunacy.

    Comment by H-W Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:22 am

  14. D-
Perhaps the most low energy ad of this campaign season. He needs more caffeine. Or more cowbell. Or more something.

Comment by Dance Band on the Titanic Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:22 am

  15. D. Talk about generic.

    Rolled up shirtsleeves…check
    Stare intently at computer…check
    mention Madigan…check
    talk to random family…check.

Comment by Jocko Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:31 am

  16. Steve who? Running for what office? He wants to protect me? Please, no. Go away.

Comment by Huh? Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:42 am

  17. Guessin’the video crew doing the Milhauser ad had about 40 minutes left on the account and slammed this together…including script. Why demand that he will cut taxes too. AG’s don’t do much prosecution or funding cops so yell about taxes.

Comment by Annonin' Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 10:45 am

  18. Didn’t he get his face melted off in the Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Comment by duck duck goose Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 11:06 am

  19. I was one of the only people who thought the Milhiser ad was pretty good. While the content is pretty similar, on this one, oof, some people just shouldn’t be on camera in their own ads. He’s just not good and it’s a basic lesson his consultants should know.

    Grade: D

Comment by New Day Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 11:21 am

  20. A gentleman’s C-.

Another candidate talking about things not under the command of his office. And about as bland as toast.

Comment by JS Mill Tuesday, May 24, 22 @ 12:00 pm

  21. Is Steve Kim actually a T-Rex?

Comment by Alan Grant Wednesday, May 25, 22 @ 11:15 am
