  1. Cubs. Pain.

  2. The Chicago National League Ball Club.

“The Cubs’ attendance is down, the payroll down more, the starting pitching down for the count.

    This is a bad team”

Only 2 teams are worse in all of baseball.

There’s no want to be better from the front office all the way up to ownership.

This is the ball club, it’s already a “next year” vibe.

    Have a good time, Rich

  6. Are you traveling from Springfield? The Metra from Joliet to Comiskey is currently at a discount ($4 each way).

Comment by Blake Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 3:47 pm

  7. I’d say White Sox World Series, but not if they play like they did last night.

Comment by Three Dimensional Checkers Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 3:50 pm

  8. I haven’t recovered from last night yet. All I see is bad defense and doom.

    Hope you can bring victory.

  9. Losses…lots of them

Comment by Murph Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 3:51 pm

  11. I’m going tomorrow afternoon. Love me some day baseball. Retired now so not officially playing hooky, but still fun.

I believe the Sox will make the expanded playoffs somehow. The only question is if they can avoid the first round curse they’ve had recently.

Yes, the defense is horrible, and the relief pitching was awful last night. But why, oh why, were they pitching in the 11th to the guy that already had 5 RBI?? That one’s on LaRussa.

Comment by Friendly Bob Adams Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 4:02 pm

  12. The Guardians: they’ll eventually fade like last year, still young. But the Sox better get moving this year, because things will be more interesting in the next few.

Lock prediction of the day? Josh Naylor will get plunked tonight.

Comment by Pride of Canton Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 4:05 pm

  13. My favorite team will play 162 games. No more, no less.

  14. Sox win the Division, win the first playoff round and then lose.

Comment by Amalia Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 4:06 pm

  15. Wainwright, Molina and Pujos will leave the Cardinals at the end of the season.

  20. As someone who has been deemed, “not a real White Sox fan,” I don’t really care. Don’t care if they win, or lose. Just waiting out the Maricopa County Pinball so I can enjoy the Sox again.

Comment by Ducky LaMoore Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 4:40 pm

  21. Not so excellent last night, coughing up a six-run lead in the ninth. Would think the Sox will make the playoffs. Not doing so will be a failure for a team with high expectations.

Comment by Grandson of Man Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 4:41 pm

  22. Wainwright, Molina and Pujos will leave the Cardinals at the end of the season.

I see them all as transitioning to coach positions. Molina especially.
As for my favorite team, grandsons t-ball team is looking great.

  23. White Sox in the series - no prediction either way from there. Last night was literally nauseating, but they have too much talent now, too much coming back from injury, and they’re going to make better deals at the trade deadline. Lance Lynn’s arm is going to be rested this year come playoff time!

Comment by lake county democrat Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 5:36 pm

  24. My Kenosha Twins moved to Indiana in the 90s.
I should probably move on by now.

Comment by Proud Papa Bear Tuesday, May 10, 22 @ 6:35 pm

  25. They’ll probably get more ice cream after the game than pizza.
