  1. Pretty soon… and it should be coming…

… folks will publicly walk away.

It’s a horribly run campaign, and here again the candidate is no help either.

  2. Might as well cede this race to the republicans.

  3. I had hope for her

    And now I’m just embarrassed

    David Moore is also running

  5. Worth noting the City Key, or the Clerk’s special ID card for Chicagoans, pet project is an unmitigated failure, cost millions and millions of dollars, never met any of the benchmarks promised in terms of distribution or usage, and is currently in mothball status at best.

  6. I am Jack’s total lack of surprise.

  7. It’s so much going on in current state and world events like I don’t think many voters have the time go pay attention to any of the lower ticket races.

  8. ===I don’t think many voters have the time go pay attention…===

Alexi is on the Tee-Vee a lil bit, prolly getting some nice name ID… and on the news there’s seemingly segment after segment “lately” about the ethically challenged couple of Valencia “… and her husband”

No ads for Valencia right now either.

As far as horribly run campaigns, it prolly helps if no one is paying close attention, but that might be helping Alexi more at this point.

If you’re trying to self-immolate, Wynn Bruce already did that on the supreme court steps last Friday.

  10. God forbid the IG look into this.

Comment by Ömbrur Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 2:33 pm

  11. So the husband isn’t the only one who flirts with ethical lines, eh?

Comment by Captain Obvious Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 2:45 pm

  12. Elected officials also have to take ethics training. I guess she didnt pay attention.

  13. Valencia is an embarrassment.

Comment by Lisa Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 3:39 pm

  14. Whoever is writing these statements for her like the one about how she “shut him down” when he tried to cross lines (multiple times), needs to be fired lol

  15. After years of politicians waiting for a shot at this very high-profile position…how in the world did we end up with these mediocre options?

Comment by NIU Grad Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 3:58 pm

  16. Valencia is done. This is a Gop takeover for SoS. I would have preferred a Kirk Dillard, Rep. Demmer, for example, even Rep. Batinick, but anyone but Alexi or Anna at this point.

Comment by Pizza Man Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 4:16 pm

  17. @ NIU Grad - exactly. This is horrible.

Both Sec. White and Gov are like an ostrich at this point with this candidate.

Comment by Pizza Man Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 4:17 pm

  18. I thought if Alexi was gonna lose anywhere it was gonna be the primary. Now he just has to get enough commercials on air for the general and people won’t remember/care what happened ten years ago. Feels like Alexi got one foot over the line today.

Comment by ElTacoBandito Thursday, Apr 28, 22 @ 4:35 pm

  19. So much for her valiant effort to stop her hubby from “crossing the line.” What a disaster of a campaign.

  20. ===Valencia explains the message tonight at 6 pm WGN-TV.===

Pretty good chance, at this point, she “Rutherfords” herself… it’s really all that’s left… first the FOIAs, then her Staff/Crew… why not… “Rutherford-ing” is all that’s left.

    Truly a horribly run campaign

  21. First, Valencia and her husband. Now Melinda Bush and Mary Edly-Allen. Not a good time for Democratic women showing off their ethics.
