Friends, let me be clear, Richard Irvin is a lying liberal who has voted Democrat in every major election. He is backed by the failed establishment and is afraid to say where he stands on protecting life, defending the second amendment, and every other important issue he’s not trying to mislead you about on TV.
No one in this world doubts I’m a true conservative. Every time there has been a tough fight, I’ve taken it on. While Irvin was hugging JB Pritzker and locking down his city and the others in this race were doing nothing, I was standing up and fighting JB Pritzker over his lockdowns to defend YOUR FREEDOMS.
I have prioritized working families and taxpayers over special interests, demanded election integrity, fought for life and the second amendment, and supported President Trump in EVERY election. I’ve always fought for our conservative principles.
In 2008, Conservative Rush Limbaugh, myself, and thousands of other Republicans helped bring chaos to the Democratic Primary to help Republicans in November.
They are now lying and trying to fool you because they are afraid of the movement we are building to win. I’m a lifelong Republican who has never supported a Democrat.I’m always ready for the fight, and I’m not backing down. With your help, I will beat two Democrats in this Republican Primary and then fire JB Pritzker in November. It’s time to send the failed establishment packing and take back our party and state.

Yeah, and not realizing people(like the DGA) are taking advantage of that personality weakness in you gets better by the day.
DGA started the ball rolling, and Bailey seems blissfully unaware he picked it up.
When the primary is over, each faction of the ILGOP is going to be so polarized against the other… well, I’m sure you all see how this will work out - even if Bailey can’t figure it out just yet.

Televangelists are only as strong as the TV towers that “spread the good news”…
What’s going to be fascinating, for me, isn’t this ridiculous amount of money, but… its use to define Bailey, define Irvin, redefine both, and the idea that this primary and its monies are being allocated in ways to get voters to see others as one wants them defined
Irvin’s own ads, Irvin is trying to redefine Mayor Irvin… and seek votes by “owning the libs”… all the while redefining The Apostle Darren Bailey as no better than “the libs” Irvin wants primary voters to own… by voting Irvin.
Meanwhile?
Meanwhile, moderate GOP voters that aren’t going to virtual tent revivals or looking forward to owning any libs are being neglected… and will it be too late to bring them in *anyone’s* fold as these defining campaigns aren’t about building coalitions…
… these redefinings are about “the aggrieved and angered”
It’s a primary that’s more about perception than substance, more about definition than recognition.

I’d say Irvin’s polling shows them in trouble given this line of attack. Clearly Bailey is the candidate best positioned to win the nomination, so he gets the “liberal” smear treatment.
Are Illinois GOP primary voters dumb enough to believe Bailey is a liberal? Griffin’s cash might be able to change some minds.

The DGA is going to DGA, but Team Irvin should be more worried about Trump endorsing Bailey.
Maybe Griffin could help the Trump Org refinance some properties or something to keep him neutral?

Did Irvin vote for Trump? Not understanding why he’s attacking Bailey over his own weak point. The Bailey campaign hasn’t been very responsive, but this seems to have awakened him. Great response by Bailey. Not hard to understand anger at the phoniness, the Rauner 2.0 pushed by the establishment.

He isn’t a fiscal liberal?
Let’s look at the record…
Raised property taxes more than 80% as a school board member
Takes millions in government subsidies.
Sounds to me like a fiscal liberal or socialist.
Fair hit by Irvin. And I am not discounting Irvin’s liberal resume. It is quite persuasive as well.

Maybe, but I suspect it’s more that Bailey is the opponent. Irvin’s team may or may not actually be concerned that he’ll win, but they’re going to attack him regardless. Same with JB attacking Irvin.
The White Sox are going to try to hit home runs regardless of if they’re playing the Tigers or the Royals.

Bailey’s demeanor is one of his many weaknesses. His pontificating indicates he has all the answers yet he would not enter into discussions on the issues concerning the state of Illinois.
Bailey doesn’t present himself as a consensus builder or leader.

I don’t know why Bailey’s accent grates on so many people. Lots of Illinoisans sound like that, and it’s authentic. Not an affectation like we heard from a certain former governor.

I think he’s following a roadmap that has proven successful on a national level. Appeal to people’s frustration and anger. You don’t have to offer solutions, just a shared view of grievances.

Thank you for saying this! Many people south of I-70 (which I know not many people reading this blog have been) talk exactly like this. And when I first saw BR wearing a brand new Carhartt jacket I didn’t think anyone would be fooled into thinking he wore that at any point off-camera.
