I’m thankful that I have immediate family who believe in science.

I’m thankful for a lot of the usual things, my health, my family’s health, my job, etc.
But since this is an Illinois politics blog, I am really thankful for Rich’s moderation that allows for a free and open give and take on some tricky issues. We need this kind of dialogue to help us understand each other and to remind us of what we have in common. I also really appreciate many of his other commenters (you know who you are), each of whom brings something new and authentic to these discussions.
Lastly, I’m also thankful to live in Illinois. And more so that the state is finally bringing in enough revenue to match its bills, and maybe even exceeding it a little. We’ve finally had a few years of good fiscal conditions and, as important, good fiscal management. I’m thankful for that too.

Wife, family (son, daughter-in-law), grandkids, etc.
Health. Church family. Living in this country …even with its’ flaws.

As someone else said all the usual things including a Governor who understands science. I would be very thankful if Ken Griffin would move to Florida. Then we can copy what California did.

Vaccines, including the folks that do the research and the folks in government who had the foresight to fund the research and production.
Also, science in general. It helps us understand our world, how it work, and our impact on it. It also helps us understand how to fix things we mess up. And, political leaders who respect science and try to do their best for us based on what we know from science.

Family, mines mostly healthy, getting old ailments aside, it’s no small thing. Freedoms we enjoy.
I also think we’re getting closer to Covid entering the endemic phase (vaccines and antivirals) and moving back to a closer degree of normalcy.

Being able to work from home and seeing the critters and flora in my little patch of heaven changing through the seasons, and not just in the early and late hours of the day after a long commute. Seeing an adult bald eagle catching the thermals over your house at lunchtime is truly amazing (banned punctuation). It took my entire lifetime (and I’m not tellin’) for that to happen thanks in part to the positive changes we humans have made in our environments both local and beyond.

Thankful for my health and happy to have all the comforts of a home and family. Thankful for some progress for the average person even in the face of insurrection and loud and unreasonable discussions in the media and at public meetings. thankful that the discussions here are measured, moderated, and meaty, and often so darn funny. Today it is sunny where I am and I wish for light and peace for all. Happy Thanksgiving (banned punctuation).

Science and scientists. Covid19 vaccines are improving the lives of all humans by slowing the spread of a killer virus, whether people believe in vaccines or not (would be great if people trusted science they way they did when I was a kid, but with today’s media spinners and social media ,those days are long gone).

I am thankful for so much this year. I have a fully vaxed and loving family, my friends have been just so wonderful (and one even moved back from Texas), my dog is a joy, my job is still fun and interesting, I haven’t had any health problems (actually improved my health a bit), the people who hate me are comically goofy villain types and I’ll be in a warm sunny spot for a bit.

So much to be thankful for, here are some things that meant a lot to me. For my kids who always picked up the phone when I call, for my friends and relatives who like to go for walks, for outdoor beer gardens during the summer, for the lake to rest by and swim in, for my farm share that introduced me to so many new things to eat, and to my public library.

Thankful for my health and that of my family members, for science and vaccines that made it possible for me to see my family in person this year, and technology that kept us in touch when we couldn’t see each other in person.

I’m grateful for family, science, friends, being vaccinated, being surrounded by those I care for and their vaccinations too. I grateful to realize more important truths to happiness and to more learning in the future.
I’m grateful to some things hidden in plain sight, also grateful for things as plain as the nose on one’s face. I’m grateful for opportunities.

Family escaped Covid 19 so far. Thankful for family and friends and business colleagues.
It has been a tough year, but thankful it turned out ok.
Also thankful for Cap Fax keeping me informed as well as entertained.

Very thankful for health and vaccination in everyone. It’s a priceless blessing to make it through to another Thanksgiving.
Also very grateful to Rich for the daily top quality work.
Politically, big thanks go to labor, the enviros, the legislative black caucuses of Illinois and US, pragmatic progressives, GOP who voted for infrastructure, Brandon, JB and others, many of whom are unknown but should get their share of credit.

So many things to be thankful for. A fully vaccinated and healthy family, especially my 85 yr old mom who is still vibrant and living on her own. Friends and neighbors who look out for each other. A steady job, and so much more.

My daughters marrying good men. Health, warm home, job with recent promotion, beautiful Sheba who has been with me through thick and thin for more than 39 years.
Now I do have 2 cats I would gladly pay to get rid of, except Sheba won’t let me.

Immediate family and in laws all vaxed/boosted, in good health, and we all get along. Couple of years into retirement and staying busy. Chasing granddaughter around the house by being whatever her current favorite monster character is. Six deer regularly wander through our property in back.
