The hamlet I believe is not(?), but I do congratulate the new US Attorney Designate Harris, and if I were to suggest investigations;
The Tailgating Travesty of 2017 at UIUC, a case still baffling investigations
The Saluki Slam of 2019 in Carbondale, the town still hasn’t fully recovered, in my opinion.
The Cahokia Mounds Caper of 2012, so many ups and downs with that investigation, some even going as far as saying it’s making a mountain out of… well, you get the drift.
Probably the most pressing is the Macomb Mystery of 2015, even Scooby Doo and the Mystery Machine couldn’t solve it, meddling kids and all.
Last, and local would be the Springfield Salad Bar Shuffle, with a great many import and exports, a real smorgasbord of criminality that it’s study worldwide due to no charges ever being made.
That’s a pretty big plate, no desserts there, lots to chew on, something for everyone’s appetite.

Also, there’s an unspoken thing about knock-off horseshoes brought in overseas and being sold as we speak in restaurants scattered about.
Finding that warehouse and then as USA prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law is a fine first act of any accidentally cited USA Designate for that district.

A perfect example what happens in newsrooms today, particularly ones that have been gutted. “It’s a story about a lawyer named Gregory Harris? We’ve got a file photo of a guy with that name, and he looks like he could be a lawyer. Send it.”

Start prosecuting fashion crimes. I see a lot of belts that don’t match shoes at the State House, and polka dot ties with striped shirts. And socks with sandals should be a capital crime.
