Heading to an arts festival in a Chicago suburb then dinner at a special restaurant with another couple. Also hopefully some fall clean-up both inside and outside the house.

But, the wife is trying to shoehorn in hosting a last-minute backyard BBQ shindig, so I’ll have to wait and see if my dream of a 3-day weekend without obligation comes true or not.

Enjoy some good quality Oktoberfest beer while relaxing in my own back yard. I might even add some oompah music, or maybe go with a Mordlust podcast depending on my mood.

Also tonight is my last iTalki session. Been doing that for the past 5 months to get my speaking better (and improve my grammar on things like Ersatz Passive.) It’s been intense (2 hours a week + homework) but I think it has helped a lot. I intend to consolidate now for a bit and probably do italki again later with a conversational partner instead of a teacher. I have educational material queued up for self study.

The Japanese Festival at the St Louis Botanical Gardens is great. I hope you enjoy.

Having a meal outdoors with people I’ve only seen on Zoom for a while and catching Marlene Dietrich at the Music Box Monday morning.
