  1. Interesting article in this year’s Old Farmer’s Almanac.

    According to the story, 40% of the U.S. live in coastal regions. Between fire, flood, excessive heat and drought the authors were predicting a mass migration to the interior of the country and discussed the impact of infrastructure in those areas.

  4. =Nasa is warning=

    Wonderful. Just wonderful. This is really gonna go well with the sea level rise we’ve signed up for.

    =were predicting a mass migration to the interior of the country=

    Definitely a possibility. As Climate Change gets worse in coastal areas, there could very likely be higher demand to move inland. Hopefully we’re in a position to take advantage of that.

    =discussed the impact of infrastructure in those areas.=

    The one biggest thing I’ve noticed since getting involved in Climate issues is the importance of infrastructure. Yes, we will need better infrastructure to handle a potential influx of climate refugees. However, we already need to be focusing on climate resiliency in our infrastructure. Climate Change means more heat and more flooding here in Illinois and our current infrastructure is dramatically unprepared.

    Go to your local city council and county board meetings. Make sure they’re including climate resiliency in their planning for projects. Keep advocating for being prepared in advance, because it just gets more costly as we wait.

  6. CILiving on channel 3 Champaign did interview with a director of a film being made there and Rantiul, then moving to Chicago. Asked why Champaign and Illinois, tax breaks for independent film makers.

    Talk about a wobble, coming to Illinois because of low taxes. Who would have thunk it..

  7. A wobbling moon. A ticking clock. And the tides are rising. “We have a situation, Mr. President….”; “a lunar realignment is the only way to stop it…”; “Bruce Willis is busy, guys. I’ll go….”. When the Right Stuff isn’t even half of it, and he always wanted to be an astronaut. An ordinary man doing something for all Mankind. “I’ll try not to step on the footprints, now send the arming codes.” ORBIT. Soon in theaters.
