  1. I found the gold standard for humorous and wholesome resolutions in the fellow “I” state of Idaho. HCR 29, from 2005, honors the production team from the hit film “Napoleon Dynamite.”

WHEREAS, any members of the House of Representatives or the Senate of the Legislature of the State of Idaho who choose to vote “Nay” on this concurrent resolution are “Freakin’ *diots” and run the risk of having the “Worst Day of Their Lives”

  2. Worried about the long term effects of Republican “election reform” bills in other states. I am thankful to be living in Illinois where we don’t seek to restrict the right to vote but concerned at the potential for the progress made here to be overriden by Federal actions if Republicans’ plans pay off.

  3. SOX 54 wins at the break with a 8 game lead. Nice. Now let’s go Hahn, start wheelin’ and dealin’ for the bullpen.

  4. I have been watching two young adults move into my multi unit building over the last couple of days. They have a couple of wheeled carry on bags they seem to be filling somewhere and bring them here and emptying them. I haven’t seen a car, so they could be doing this via CTA. I hope them own some furniture and have a way to get it here.

  5. The Sun popped through the overcast for a few minutes this morning, then the overcast re-asserted itself and returned my morning to a light gray dinginess. Somewhere a dog barked for a moment, heard over the din of nearby Halsted Street traffic. And so it goes.

  6. July gloom…

  7. So sick of this rain. Here in the Springpatch area gardens are showing the impact of constant over cast, rain and temps not really hitting the highs needed to produce crops like we usually see.

  8. Sox vs. Astros will expose more weakness against strong teams. Record is deceptive. Hahn knows that and will have to deal.

  9. The weather is almost as if summer is taking its own vacation. Cloudy, misty, about 72 degrees lately.

  10. This week is the (British) Open Golf Championship.

Didn’t know I’d be experiencing British isle weather as it prepares to begin.

Still… I’ll take this as opposed to the West/Southwest.

  11. Madonia said on “AM Springfield” this morning that someone had “told him” that possibly up to 11 people were considering running for Mayor of Springfield for the April 2023 election. When Mayor Langfelder’s 2nd term expires.

Could Rep. Murphy be one of the 11 after being put in the same district as Bourne with the new maps? Sam asked Murphy if the new maps would make him consider a run for Mayor when he was on his show about a month ago.

  12. My outdoor plants are “praying” for the Sun to shine them into flowering.
