  1. This is good news. Let’s hope these numbers keep dipping from 7-day rolling average over next three days.

  2. Good news can’t wait for the under 12s to be vaccinated. That said stay cautious. I know 2 fully vaccinated who tested positive. Remember the vaccine is focused on reducing severe illness. It does not mean you will not catch it. The good news both persons had very mild cases. Only came to light as they needed to test due to travel.

  3. ===Remember the vaccine is focused on reducing severe illness.===

This is the key part. The fact that you catch Covid isn’t bad in itself if you’re not physically impacted. The only thing to worry about it for those folks that catch it after getting vaccinated are any long-term conditions that are unknown at this time.

  4. If we can reduce COVID to a flu-like situation or better with the vaccines, that’s great. Before COVID we didn’t shut down our behavior because of flu outbreaks. But the key is to get vaccinated. Those without vaccination face the full force of the virus.

Like with climate change, some are trying to make the exception the rule. It’s unseasonably cold somewhere, so global warming is a hoax (never mind the record global temperatures and CO2 levels, ice melt, etc). Some vaccinated people get COVID, therefore the vaccines don’t work. Vaccines are shown to be very effective—a godsend. But we have the extra work of fighting misinformation.

  5. I second illifan’s comments on the under 12 population. For me, having two kids not eligible for vaccination is the primary reason to continue exercising caution.
