  1. ==Yesterday, 16,920 doses were reported administered in Illinois.==

    Looking at IDPH’s website, that appears to be a new low level for daily vaccinations we haven’t seen since February 20th.

    Provisional data - and it was a beautiful weekend, 80 degrees and breezy. No excuse to not get Vacinated, but a nice spring weekend is rare.

  3. Hard to evaluate the vaccine numbers until we see the missing pharmacy data. But it’s quite possible that the plateau is here.

  4. The early adopters are in.

    Next it will be early takers on 12-16 for the shot. After that it will have to be door to door to get people to take the shot. I think you might get a wave of people looking again this fall into winter for a first dose. But I think the take rate will fall somewhere close to 60-65% - and then COVID will become endemic in places and the rest of us will just choose not to go there.

    Indeed they are provisional numbers, and the pharmacy numbers will increase this, but still, that’s a lot of ground to make up.

    If you are vaxxed, why does it matter?

  7. ===If you are vaxxed, why does it matter?===

    Kids can’t yet be vaccinated, for one. Not wanting to hang out with morons, for two.

  8. Longer unvaxxed and younger folks keep spreading this around sooner or later it will mutate and no one will be spared.
    What is so hard to understand.

  9. =If you are vaxxed, why does it matter?=

    Among the many reasons for vaccinations and herd immunity is to stop the virus from mutating. A mutating virus will lessen the effectiveness of any vaccine.

    I’m tired of those that are both unwilling to trust the science and understand it.

  10. ==If you are vaxxed, why does it matter?==

    I’d like to have ICU capacity available, and not have it run out like happened recently in Bloomington. If I had a procedure scheduled, I’d rather not have to have it rescheduled as happened recently in Peoria.

    Breakthrough infections are more common among people with compromised immune systems, and I think people going through cancer treatments have enough to deal with as it is.

    I get enough schadenfreude watching people vote against their own economic self interest, I don’t need to watch them suffer through a hospitalization too.
