Cheryl44- I was one of the lucky workers sent home from JRTC that day (at full pay)… a beautiful sunny day as I recall.

Southern Illinois is especially gorgeous right now! Wildflowers, spring gobblers strutting, crappie spawning, and of course morels popping!

Even if you aren’t a hiker, hunter, or angler - there are such beautiful drives all over down here in the southern 16!

Now if DNR could just clean up the mess in the new camping reservation and license and permitting software - it would just be fantastic.

Thanks for bringing this up. Makes me remember one of my role models, John LaPlante who Daley made to take the fall for issuing the permit for the pilings. We lost John just over a year ago, one of the first COVID-19 victims.

Did anyone else see Adam Kinzinger’s tweet last night referring to the GOP as the “dads” and Democrats as “moms”? And then how he added that dems/moms are trying to buy your love and GOP/dads are hitting the sauce? Didn’t take long to show his true colors.

I remember when I was a kid, there was a river maybe around Sullivan that was a turtle spawning site. Every year you’d see hundreds of baby turtles swimming around. To be honest, I don’t know what kind of turtles these were (for all I know snappers) but they were sure fun to watch.
