Wife and I both have our first shots done. Now we wait a few weeks for round two. Then another 2 weeks for full effect. So maybe travel will be an option this summer after all. Fingers crossed.

Not bad, looks like the last member of the family will get vaccinated this week (they are in a different state right now).
Had my first games of the weekend, it appears they are sanitizing HS football stadiums between events, but I have no idea what the actually means.

My household is doing just fine. I am concerned about the recent uptick in cases and positivity rates though. I have to wonder if this a sign of variants taking hold.
I’m also concerned about the number of families in my community I know traveled to popular destinations in places like Florida over spring break. If my school district is forced back to fully remote learning in the next couple weeks, these parents of course won’t be screaming loudly about it on Facebook. /s

Both of us vaccinated and “ripened”. Still very careful, but its spring. Working while husband installs new bird feeder poles to keep the squirrels out. Worried for friends up in Chicago collar counties and relatives in Wisconsin who can’t get vaccine.

Rural communities should brace for another wave. Went out Sunday and didn’t see many mask wearers. Since I am fully vaccinated I thought I would go out for lunch. Unless we are near 100% in rural Illinois we are probably in big trouble.

Things are looking up. My wife is fully vaccinated, I get my first shot Thursday. Kane County is looking to vaccinate 3,000 people per day in an old Sam’s Club through kanevax.com.
My son is about a third through his HS soccer season. That’s helping too.
Still not going into restaurants and bars. May never again - I like it outside. But boy when the concerts start up again…so excited.

My wife, one daughter who lives in Illinois and myself are vaccinated. My other daughter lives in STL and they are running behind in their distribution and she hasn’t even received her first vaccine yet. She does work from home which helps but I am concerned.

It occurred to me over the weekend one of the reasons I am so stressed at the end of the day is because I have back-to-back Zoom calls all day long. Before COVID I had travel time between meetings to decompress.
Also, my productivity has doubled this past year, but my pay has actually decreased.
Lastly, my home is now my work, and I can’t get away from it because everything is closed. All I do is work now.

I see the light at the end of the tunnel for my family. Mom and Dad are fully vaccinated. The kids finally got to go over to their house and stay for more than half an hour. I’ve got one jab and will be scheduling my second as soon as I can. My wife will be getting her jab soon. I am very excited for some semblance of normalcy.

After an almost obsessive level of rechecking the Walgreen’s website for the past week and a half, was finally able to make my appointments. First dose is tomorrow. Looking very forward to seeing my parents in the next six weeks or so since they have their full course completed. I didn’t fully realize what a weight that isolation was putting on me until there’s an end in sight.

Folks starting to get vaccinated or have upcoming appointments. That is great.
Pretty far along in the process due to getting the first dose a little while back, and nearing the second dose. It’s a relief to start building immunity, but still wearing a mask, socially distancing and sanitizing/washing hands. Can’t wait for the fully vaccinated to get back together again.

Found out that the Bloomington testing site is now only open certain days of the week after traveling 25 miles to get my monthly check. Sunday ain’t one of them. New days/times are: Open Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm One other car also did a U-turn in front of me at the site once they also read the large red banner. If this site isn’t going to be open for testing everyday, it would sure be nice if on the other days it was open for vaccinations. It would make a terrific site for that since it’s already set up for intake and car flow. Might go today. One of my family members has out-patient surgery this week, and I’ll the designated helper in case they need to stay overnight.

Had both shoots and finished the 14 day waiting period. Still wearing a mask, but actually went to the office to work today.
Nice to get out. Very tired of the remote gig.
Sorry for the people waiting on getting the vaccine. Seems things may be getting better now.

Same. People in my neighborhood must think we’ve beaten COVID and the masks/distancing no longer matter. Hope there isn’t a another wave, but won’t be surprised if there is.

Doing well, had my first shot and one daughter had hers. Tracking them down for my wife and other daughter.
The anti-mask types are picking up again in relation to people above. At the part time job at a liquor store we’ve had more problems this weekend than in the last several months. Most people are still good, but several incidents in a couple days over the weekend compared to maybe that many since December.

@Huh - I’ll second that. The Orr Building is a great resource for anyone who can travel and take time to come for the shot.
Plenty of people have throw in the towel on the distancing… I do think its the combo of all the folks who ever cared and the newly vaccinated. Makes the crowds even bigger.
Watching high school football this weekend was nice. Everyone in the stands kept their masks on and mostly 3 to 6 feet apart. Happy to see it.

I’m fully vaccinated and my life has not changed at all. Very concerned about the variant in Michigan and the number of people outside bars this weekend with no masks on.

I’ll receive my second dose Moderna) on Wednesday at HyVee in Springfield. Their vaccine program seems to run very smoothly, but I made a reservation online the day they started scheduling them. Most of my older friends and family (65+)have had both shots. Younger friends — not so many.

Got my 1st shot yesterday at Fairgrounds in Springfield. The National Guard was very organized, friendly and I was in and out in 20 minutes.

Jsmill. I don’t know if springfield,grafton, or Carbondale qualify for a rural community, but there were few if any masks on this weekend.

Just got scheduled for my first vaccine dose. It seems weird to get a possibly lifesaving medication administered at a grocery store, but hey, I’m not picky.

I’ve had both shots and a two week wait. Still trying to recover from COVID in November. I’m a long hauler, but I’m thankful for how good I do feel. Yes, I still wear my mask. I have COVIDphobia.

Husband and I both had second shot 2 weeks ago Thursday.
Concerned about variants, and still wearing a mask.
Nothing’s changed, except I’m less terrified to go to the grocery store.
Will definitely not be dining at indoor restaurants or bars anytime soon.
Sigh.

Good.Fully vaccinated and on vacation for first time in 13 months. Air travel was good, wore mask and others complied well also. Wearing masks in hotel but not on beach or at outside dining. No indoor dining.
