Unreal snow. In some places it’s almost up to the top of the building. Did lots of snow removal yesterday, to make today as easy as possible.

This is definitely the most I have seen in the 20+ years I have been in Chicago. I look forward to seeing grass again some time in July.

My 20+ year old snowblower finally died yesterday. Managed to get to Lowes before they closed and got a new one. Felt lucky to find one, since it looked like everyone else in town was sold out or only had the $1,000+ ones. New one’s bigger than the old one and was even on sale. Guess I’ll have to clear the whole block to celebrate!

In my area, there are an army of volunteers that use their tractors, 4 wheelers and side-by-sides to open up their neighbors driveways. By 6 am I was hearing the cooperative nature of our area at work.

The dog couldn’t find the sidewalk, let alone the grass, saw the snow banks were taller than her, and decided just to pee, skip that “walk” thing, and turn around back to the door.

My dog wants to lay in the snow. No interest in going back inside. He’s a pup so I don’t know what he’ll think of 90 degrees with humidity. He probably won’t come out of the basement.
My employer closed. My spouse had to drive 25 miles to work. Thank God he made it safely.
Be careful and stay warm.

Way too much snow. I’m very glad my building has a parking lot that gets plowed regularly. There are some cars parked on the street that are almost completely buried and look like they won’t be out until sometime in June.
On the other hand, is it really necessary for television news to send some poor reporter out in the cold and snow and wind just so he can tell us it’s cold and snowy and windy? This is not big news in Chicago in February.

I noticed many Bars and Restaurants closing to keep customers and employees safe. I wonder if Tom DeVore is filing a lawsuit against Mother Nature this morning? Another day another lost lawsuit. Stay warm. Stay safe.

I’m not saying we’ve had a lot of snow between last night and the previous snow, but the new song going around is “I’m dreaming of a white Easter.” I’m running out of places to put the snow that I can actually throw it to. If it was wet heavy snow I’d have to hire somebody to do it, but this stuff is so light my parkway is now an avalanche hazard area. If you’re hand shoveling, remember to pace yourself, drink water, and maybe just one shovel width path for now. It will be here for awhile; no sense in having a heart attack over it. And don’t go out if you don’t have to. Remember emergency services will take longer to get to you.

My boss told me to put on my snow tire slippers and go to work from home.
Glad for snow blower. My 25 year old Toro was retired in October.

Used to have a dog like that. Buddy would drag his pillow out of the doghouse and lay on it on top of the snow. I finally gave up and bought him a second pillow so one could just stay out on the ground.
And yes, in the dog days of August he liked to be inside laying on the tile floor in front of the A/C.
