Hooray, I’m gonna be a wreck.

Both chambers are still slogging away as I write this at 2:50 am.

  3. Speaker Madigan, if today is your last day thank you for always treating me with respect, thank you for being one of the best leaders in the history of Illinois, and thank you for putting up with a lot crap. I am not saying I always appreciated the treatment from some of your staff, but I strongly believe you Illinois is much better for your having stayed as long as you did. God Bless and Good Fortune.

  5. Can any other state’s politics be said to provide cliff-hanging excitement and disappointment in such abundance?

This would all be pretty amazing, if it weren’t Illinois.

  7. That’s insane they kept it going for so long. Something about having a late night (into the morning) and then getting up earlier and expecting to make good decisions doesn’t seem to add up. I’m also not a lawmaker but hey…they’re human too right?

  9. To Thomas Paine at 9:07am: ““Normally if given a choice between doing something and nothing, I chose to do nothing. But I will do something if it helps someone else to do nothing. I’d work all night if it meant nothing got done.” - Ron Swanson, “Parks and Recreation”
