I did and I hate to admit it as a Sox fan, but I was expecting the worst when that last ball left the bat for the last out. A truly dominating performance by Giolito.

Giolito with a no-no.
How can you not be romantic about baseball? Seriously, how can you not?
If you love the game, you root for no hitters unless it’s your ball club on the wrong side of it.
How about that battery too? When a pitcher and catcher are on a roll, lookout.
Catchers calling a ball game is an art based on the science of what their guy can throw, the hitter, and the sequence of the AB.
Discarding a quality backstop, especially on a night like this is criminal to the game.
Total class too… McCann acknowledges the home plate ump too after. He’s part of that game forever. That’s baseball.
Congrats to Giolito, 101 pitches to boot.

OW, Giolito said he only shuck off McCann once. My only time watching a No Hitter, seen parts of several, that I had no doubt it was going to happen. Really only a couple of good/great defensive plays, it was almost all Gio/McCann.

According to ESPN this morning that last out line drive snagged on the run by Adam Engel had an 85% chance of being a hit.

They were in a groove, and Giolito hit the spots as well. Think on this… with 101 pitches… 13 Ks. How efficient they were, McCann calling the ball game, that Giolito can have 13 Ks, and be below 105/110 pitches? Insane.

Saw Stone call a strikeout before it happened, with a high fastball. Love that. The man knows baseball so well, and his voice sounds almost like it doesn’t age.

Caught the replay on NBC Sports Chicago this AM. He had total command of his pitches, and had a couple of great plays behind him (Abreu’s tag out in the 7th, Engel’s great jump on the ball for the final out. He needs to realize his next start will be a new challenge.

I started believing he’d do it in the 6th. Just a dominant pitching performance.
Who knows what the future holds, but the last few weeks have shown this core Rick Hahn has assembled is special.

I caught the last two innings by virtue of the MLB Package. Giolito has evolved as the best Sox pitcher since Mark Buehrle.

Loved. I don’t know why but after 7th I knew he had it. I made the wife and kids watch the 8th and 9th.
My son, the truest Sox fan said after the last pitch, “I thought that we would have had a couple more this week the way the Cubs hit.”

oh my was that fantastic (banned punctuation). from the worst pitcher in 2018 to this. he’s magic with McCann. and the D was great when needed, nice work RickRent. the joy of the entire team was amazing. also nice, Gio was late on SportCenter with Scott Van Pelt who just went right into questioning and Gio started with a nice greeting to SVP, all cordial and polite like the wonderful young kid he is. Just turned 26 last month (banned punctuation).

I attended Zambrano’s no hit game in Milwaukee some years ago (the Astros were the home team in a game that was moved to Miller Park on account of Hurricane Ike). One of the things that worried me was the pitch count. It is hard to throw a complete game shutout these days and I wondered if Pinella was going to pull the pitcher in the ninth if he issued a walk or a single hit.
It saddens me that Giolito’s no hitter was completed in an empty ballpark. There were no scorecards sold to spectators when Zambrano hurled his no no.

The magic between pitcher and catcher was notable, and fun to watch.
Steve Stone and Jason Benetti really brought the thing home in the eighth and ninth innings; these guys are the best.

I had a feeling it was going to be a special night. Not only did I watch the entire game, I even stayed tuned through the power outage. I now know a lot more than I did before the game started.

Most of you realize I am an avid 2nd amendment guy. NRA member.CCW . The whole enchilada. This open carry stuff is wrong. All these folks are doing is tying to do intimidate. That’s not what the 2nd amendment is all about. I know the NRA fights for it, but with this one I disagree.
