* I’m going out for a bit. It’s such a gorgeous day, so I think I’ll have some lunch. Keep it Illinois-centric, avoid national politics like the plague and be nice to each other. Thanks.

  3. Baseball fans: If you haven’t seen it, check out this outstanding video celebrating Opening Day on MLB Network’s twitter feed. Incredible prose written by Tom Verducci and voiced by Jon Hamm, it’s extremely moving.

  5. Anyone else’s gardens in hyper drive this year? If you don’t already can, freeze or home preserve, this is a great time to learn. Alternately, share around the neighborhood with those who may be struggling, or are unable to garden anymore. Share your extra curbside a la Little Food Pantry style.
If all else fails, leave large bags of squash on random porches in the dead of night.

  13. Had a Covid-19 test on July 11th at the IDPH facility in Springfield which is now gone. I think the Coty of Springfield should spend the extra $4.3 million they have from the CARES act to contract with SIU to have a testing facility for the community that is open to everyone including Children. Walgreen has an 8 day wait currently and the Memorial site you have to be showing symptoms, which is a challenge as most positive cases currently are asymptotic. Just unsolicited advice for our local governments looking for a way to make an impact.

  14. Forgot to mention there have still been no results from the test on the 11th.
