  1. More loneliness. I haven’t seen any of my co-workers in the flesh in 2 months. Thankfully, our family is close-knit, now more than ever.

Comment by Six Degrees of Separation Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:07 pm

  2. Need a haircut, looking like the fellow on the fifty dollar bill from Galena, lost a few pounds. Bored by the lack of the normal routine. Need baseball and horse racing.

Comment by Practical Politics Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:08 pm

  3. Less forgiving of humankind (myself included). Really don’t like it.

Comment by Lt Guv Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:09 pm

  4. The lines have completely blurred. My enemies have became my friends and my friends have become my enemies. There is no more age of reason. We are heading back to the dark ages with a rocket on the back.

Comment by Holding Back Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:10 pm

  5. I have realized, even more than before, how privileged I am and that I need to use that privilege in more and better ways to help those that don’t have the same resources.

Comment by southsider Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:12 pm

  6. Insomnia

Comment by LakeCo Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:13 pm

  7. Time is different now. Reminds me of being a kid. Days are long. I like that.

I’m putting in more work hours, but I find myself going outside more. Sitting and thinking.

Realized that many years whizzed by when you’re doing the commuter thing. Now I can work quietly, more effectively.

    Comment by Mr. K. Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:13 pm

  8. Haven’t shaved since March 12. I’ve never had a beard before. Now I know why.

    Comment by 47th Ward Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:17 pm

  9. I am good at a lot of things, I had forgotten I knew how to do. Landscaping, dry wall, painting, and various other things. I am actually proud how some thins have turned out. Maybe not professional, but good enough, for who it is for.

Comment by Retired Educator Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:17 pm

  10. The guy in the mirror needs a haircut (I’m sure I’m not the only one seeing that).

Being blessed to still be employed and healthy, I’ve tried to help others who aren’t so lucky: such as buying meals from small family restaurants or donating to local musicians during their Facebook Live “concerts”

Comment by Stu Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:19 pm

  11. Gained 8 pounds. I also go to sleep earlier exhausted from the stress of the day, and when I wake up to pee around 5:30 a.m. I have trouble falling back asleep due to all the stress and by 7:00 a.m. give up and take the dog for the first of our multiple walks every day.

    Comment by Just Me 2 Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:19 pm

  12. I am fortunate that I am getting a paycheck, as I am work from home essential.

Get crankier than I should about putting on clothes I want to be seen in public in.. and socks.. I really like not wearing socks…

    Comment by 618er Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:20 pm

  13. I’m supporting my local liquor emporium more.

Comment by yeah Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:20 pm

  14. Crabby!
    Also often very tired.
Really getting used to remote office work and Zoom meetings.
Want the state to open up, but afraid to go out.

Comment by Back to the Future Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:22 pm

  15. I am bald yet even I need a haircut

Comment by DuPage Saint Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:25 pm

  16. Longer hair, can’t sleep, and working way more hours now that we’re remote.

I also appreciate things more, and maybe I don’t take as many things for granted.

Comment by Stuff Happens Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:25 pm

  17. Gained 5 pounds, sleeping much better. Noticing lots of household things I could do if I didn’t feel handcuffed to my laptop. Less stress - but then I am still getting paid. Seriously think I will like retirement if I ever get to. But will need social outlets.

Comment by thoughts matter Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:25 pm

  18. Lost 12 pounds, gained 10 pounds. Sleep about 5 hours, have problems focusing, kids seem excessively annoying and I to them. Watched entire Marvel Universe in order and about to start Star Wars. Reading fiction like a fiend. Drink less than normal. Enjoying the wildlife the neighborhood has to offer … going to start naming squirrels and rabbits.

  19. “What changes have you seen in yourself since this craziness began, if any?”

    Nothing good, Rich.

    Nothing good.

  20. Words I never thought I would utter: I’m looking forward to wearing a suit and tie again.

  21. == I have realized, even more than before, how privileged I am and that I need to use that privilege in more and better ways to help those that don’t have the same resources. ==

Same, and trying to be same.

I also miss my favorite eatery.

Comment by thunderspirit Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:29 pm

  22. In much better shape. Sadly, no better looking.

Comment by SSL Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:39 pm

  23. My hair looks like a former democratic candidate for POTUS, I have a beard down to the top of a shirt (it is never that long normally), and I am reminded everyday of Mark Twain’s quote “The more people I meet, the more I like my dog”.

Comment by SpfdNewb Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:44 pm

  24. I have never been so very distractab

wait, i have to check my email

  25. == I have realized, even more than before, how privileged I am and that I need to use that privilege in more and better ways to help those that don’t have the same resources. ==

This. Took things for granted and never appreciated that I could use it in better ways. Trying to do so. Also in the best shape I’ve been in since I was probably 25

Comment by Joe Bidenopolous Friday, May 15, 20 @ 2:48 pm

  26. Fatter. Never have I spent so much time thinking about “What’s for lunch?”. Also my attention span feels shorter.

Comment by northsider (the original) Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:02 pm

  27. Trying hard to keep morale up but am greatly helped by my blessings and past efforts (also “get by with a little help from my friends”). Following politics I believe has helped me understand that some wars and battles take a long time to be decided and has made me more comfortable being in a battle mentality. This battle is fought by us doing our level best to reduce the virus spread and other health-based actions.

Comment by Grandson of Man Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:06 pm

  28. Same as those who are blessed and determined to do more to help others. I’m looking into persuading our schools to allow folks to have community gardens for families who are going hungry or on the edge. I’m also looking into donating vitamins to food pantries. My son says kids in Washington State are showing up at clinics with rickets and other nutritional diseases. I don’t have another source for this info.

Comment by Froganon Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:18 pm

  29. Added 10 pounds. Minus 2 hours per night of sleep. Alcohol consumption less frequent but in higher quantity per occurrence. Watching even more cheesy, corny TV shows about how people and the world should be and not how it actually is. D*** (or thank) you Michael Landon.

Comment by Ducky LaMoore Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:30 pm

  30. Drinking too much, eating too much. Oh, wait. No change.

Comment by Bruce( no not him) Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:30 pm

  31. Zip, zero, zilch.

Comment by Collinsville Kevin Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:35 pm

  32. Shaggy. Lost ten pounds. Found it takes a lot of time and effort to do nothing.

On a more serious note, I have consciously decided that “today is my best day”. It is up to me how to use today, the day that i have been given.

Comment by Langhorne Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:37 pm

  33. Exercising more… But also eating more. I feel like a hamster with her hamster wheel.

Comment by AD Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:40 pm

  34. Gained weight. Watch TV shows about life “before” longingly. Wearing a mask when shopping, even though others don’t, it’s like a political act. Planted a garden this year. Working too much.

Comment by SouthernGirl Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:57 pm

  35. Really honed down wants and needs. Confirmed what I’ve long suspected, I only need four stores.
One grocery, two hardware (local and big box), and Rural King.

Comment by efudd Friday, May 15, 20 @ 3:57 pm

  36. I’m getting mean. Not in my actions — I am alone and don’t have anyone to be mean to. But I am now mean in my heart.

Comment by GDUB Friday, May 15, 20 @ 4:15 pm

  37. I’ve felt both helpless and bitter due to the situation that’s out of my control. New emotions for me.

Comment by Wensicia Friday, May 15, 20 @ 4:16 pm

  38. Realized that reading Cap Fax isn’t as much fun as it used to be. (This has nothing to do with Rich’s amazing coverage and most of the commenters, but everything to do with the content. Last weekend’s absence was almost calming.)
