No more weekend Pritzker briefings

* Gov. Pritzker today…

Today marks, our 60th daily update in a row. To the delight of many reporters who have been working these long days with us, beginning this weekend we will no longer hold weekend in person briefings. But instead, we’ll release daily medical statistics on Saturday and on Sunday.

Oh, thank goodness. Everybody needs a break.

Anon y mouse. The legislature has control over calling the legislature into session. You are directing your animus at the wrong party.

Maybe he should cut back to two days a week. Say Monday and Thursday. All the information can or is being posted on line anyway and by meeting twice a week he could answer questions and hopefully not have as many repeat questions
It is not like he can not call a press conference if something major happens

Also two days less of worrying about being asked multiple questions about Lollapalooza and the State Fair, and social gatherings, for the 200th time since this crisis began.

Thinking the daily Gov. and President briefings are not very helpful. Time for Trump and Pritzker to take a break. This daily stand up routine has to be exhausting.
If some big policy or health situation pops up then just schedule the presser.
Agency spokespeople can fill us all in with a press release on the weekends.

As a senior citizen I have been obeying all directives to the letter and am not very happy with my ugly hair, nails and lack of people in my life. I also find these daily briefings very depressing and they cause me great worry at times. The information is very repetitive and He seems to be running out of this info. The questions are sometimes just ridiculous. So here’s a petty one: Can You either stop this daily garbage, or change the time so that a full episode of General Hospital can be viewed? It would help an old lady have a better day.

The White House press briefings are better managed and the settings have been varied (the Press Briefing Room, the Oval Office, the Rose Garden, etc.) and the speakers are different on given days.

Governor Pritzker has chosen to work out of the dreary Thompson Center and the setting and messaging has become quite monotonous.

And yet polls show the governors response has been overwhelmingly well received. You don’t think that these daily press conferences have something to do with that? Nobody is compelled to tune in.
