  1. Get well soon. Regrettably you’ll be back to work sooner than you want.

This virus may have long term effects…yet unknown.

  5. I hope this lady turns the corner soon. Her account is similar to many I have heard. A friend was hospitalized and Northwestern with COVID on 3/24. She was given remdesivir and recovered in a week. She was told she was no longer contagious. Last week, she took an antibody test at Northwestern that tested for three antibodies, IGG, IGA, and IGM. The test revealed that she was still positive with COVID, actively infectious, and had not yet developed any antibodies. Between her release from Northwestern and last week, she believes she infected a friend. This virus is nasty. We must take precautions until we have a firm grasp on how it operates, how long it remains in the body, and the impact remdesivir and other trial medications have on the body.

  6. Should be given out as a handbill at any and all future IL protests similar to Sunday’s in Springfield.

  8. Perhaps she should share this with her state representative, Blaine Wilhour, who has been bragging to whoever will listen about how he has wagged his finger at Gov. Pritzker to open Illinois back up.

  11. === 99 out of 100 others…===

    That’s one percent.

Illinois, through testing sits at 4% with confirmed cases.

Please don’t be Dr. Oz and say “3-4% is ok”

    Thanks.

    To the Post,

    Bless her.

That’s sounds so terrible, the idea of isolation is the necessity to stop these infections.

Are you willing to be the 1? Would you volunteer one of your loved ones?

    And your numbers are wrong.

  13. People and politicians should also read this NYT piece - the longterm effects even after technically “recovered” are uncertain. The “reopen the country” people tend to conflate all illnesses as the same in terms of misery and recovery.

  15. “Courageous through and through.”

Because of what she does for a living and where. She is the one keeping the ventalator running when the doctors and nurses are getting all the glory.

  16. Morgan
Thank you for sharing your experience. Well done, well written review of your experience with the virus.

I actually learned more about the virus than I have from any of the Trump/Pritzker pressers.

Also thanks for your service in health care.

  19. I have a family member who works as safety supervisor for non-IL network of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Older man was hospitalized for treatment, tested negative 3 times. Tested again before discharge, tested positive. Testing is extremely complex process, who the heck knows why negative several times. Bottom line is, testing is nowhere near where it needs to be — on multiple levels — for states not meeting federal guidelines for Phase 1 to be reopening.
