1,529 new cases, 82 additional deaths

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced 1,529 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 82 additional deaths.

Stark county is now reporting a case. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 15,078 cases, including 462 deaths, in 78 counties in Illinois. The age of cases ranges from younger than one to older than 100 years.

  5. It’s too bad some people have to ride the trains and buses. I suspect if that stat was gathered, it too would be a co-morbidity. :(

  6. I’m wondering if IDPH has the underlying monthly or daily death rate data (I only find annual data in their online data sets). In other places we are seeing that COVID19 deaths are underreported by half or more. Especially in the absence of good testing, I would think that the counties and IDPH would be asking for this daily to see how we compare with the average daily rate from March and April in previous years.

  7. I will also be curious to see what the NBA and NCAA saw back then too. Looking at the proverbial straw in this crisis, it’s the NCAA moving from ‘no spectators’ to cancelling the tournament. Dominoes from there.
