  1. Do not engage the trolls

  2. Those trolls are major Republican donors, check them out on Illinois Sunshine.

    They have 5 pages of donations to conservative candidates. I’m not a finance attorney, but aren’t 501c3’s and non-for-profits supposed to avoid politicking? Especially campaign contributions? Genuinely believe this is a form of tax fraud.

    Considering the ramp up in anti-semetism of the last few years, is this responsible rhetoric to be engaging in?

  3. i hope the pronoun inclusion triggers the righty snowflakes at ifi

  4. Anyone who thinks that the certain German party referenced above paid anything but lip service to left wing Socialism while actually governing as ultra right wing genocidal Fascists is hung up on one misleading word they adopted in their name and is just proving they don’t know their history.

    Comment by Ron Burgundy Monday, Jan 6, 20 @ 3:33 pm

  5. Let’s be very clear;

    The Trumpkins, be they “family” driven or “look at our economy”… “conservatives”

    This is projecting that Trump himself is a racist, and folks think they can either parse “oh, I agree with Trump, but… “ or they do this now, project that the “Democrat Party” is the party of national socialism… AND… wait for it… socialism.

    It’s truly amazing how these “family” groups, or “evangelical” groups claim the high ground and project, like here, but ignore that *they* support a POTUS who is a “both sides” apologist to give cover to the racism and bigotry.

    All that said, this sickens and saddens me that a group felt the need to have a stance, then double down in this manner.

  6. Ron Burgundy. You are soooooo correct. It drives me crazy when the ahistoric maintain that the Nazis were socialists. The German economy was corporate capitalism but the largest consumer was the state’s defense complex. In other words, like the the modern day USA

  7. Does anyone realize that socialism and fascism are two completely opposite ends of the political spectrum. Fascism is far right nationalist authoritarianism. Socialism is the far left government owned production. Please know your history before posting stupid things Illinois Family Institute.

    I hope this was an act of Integrity. We need folks who have enough integrity to call out and take action when groups lie and create phony conspiracy theories.

  14. === What is the deal with the pronouns? I am not familiar with this kind of usage. ===

    Never mind. I used the Google.

  15. I’m confused. Didn’t you just post the same graphic under both?

    Comment by Chicago Cynic Monday, Jan 6, 20 @ 4:22 pm

  16. @ Chicago Cynic
    Rich included IFI’s graphic at the top of his post for context. Below the dividing line, the response from the HDems also included the graphic as their response. That’s why its listed twice

    I get that. I just don’t get why the Dems would include it in their candidate survey response.

  18. In any case…

    ===Socialism===

    The Nazis were socialist in the same way that North Korea is a Democratic People’s Republic.

  19. Disappointed that Mike Halpin didn’t sign. This is great; I only wish more had signed.

    Comment by RIJ Monday, Jan 6, 20 @ 4:41 pm

  20. Nick, they are saying that it doesn’t matter if they complete the survey. It’s not like it would change IFI’s rhetoric. So they just sent the propaganda back as their reply.

    Comment by RIJ Monday, Jan 6, 20 @ 4:43 pm

  21. Ah, ok, thanks.

  26. Fun fact: English speakers who bemoan the use of they/them pronouns have already used an English plural pronoun as a singular pronoun every day of their adult lives.

    The English language changes over time.

    That’s a feature not a bug.
