  1. The media is overlooking issues relating to the CTU tentative agreement and looking at it as if it’s a done deal. The vote last night in the CTU House was not really overwhelmingly in favor of the terms. Delegates voted only 364 to 242 in favor, with four abstentions, to accept the revised tentative agreement. There was a serious debate over the terms, I suspect once it goes to the membership for a vote it will be passed assuming the days are made up and teachers get paid for them. I also understand that there was no agreement from the Mayor to not try to continue to block the elected school board bill in the GA by using President Cullerton which was also an issue discussed.

  2. ===voted only 364 to 242 in favor===

    Um, that’s 60-40. It’s a slam dunk in any venue. It’s a veto-proof majority in both legislative chambers.
