He previously was a Director of Corporate Development of Sara Lee Corporation and did similar work for organizations such as the McDonald’s Corporation and Arthur Andersen.
We discussed this yesterday. It’s a different Martin Sandoval.
Also, that hiring story is odd. RTA Chairman Kirk Dillard called Pace on the plaintiff’s behalf to recommend him for a job and Sen. Sandoval’s son got it instead. According to claims made in the story, no hard evidence has yet surfaced to directly establish that Sen. Sandoval actively helped his kid get the gig.

Citing ‘unpredictable legislative and regulatory landscape,’ Sterigenics won’t reopen
Sterigenics, the company that owns a shuttered medical sterilization facility that’s been in the crosshairs of lawmakers and activists for its history of releasing a cancer-causing chemical into the Willowbrook area, will not reopen that facility.
Citing what the company called an “unpredictable legislative and regulatory landscape in Illinois,” it announced Monday that it would exit its sterilization operations in Willowbrook.
Nowhere is this highly important fact mentioned…
Sterigenics also said it was unable to reach an agreement to renew the lease on the building it uses on Quincy Street in Willowbrook.
Forget about the regulatory environment. No lease, no business.

Idk, I don’t think it’s related to the hire. All this activity can’t be for something so obvious. As others have pointed out, both of his kids work for utilities that Marty has relationships with. I think people sensed an opening and went after Marty. Don’t be surprised if others pile on. More Marty stories, not related to his charge, might be forthcoming…

If its not in writing, its not enforceable…if it never gets enforced, it may never get implemented or people hired to provide the kids what they really should have.
Those jobs will be a ripe target for layoffs when they eventually come…they always do.
They days of empty promises on a TV or press release are gone. Get it in writing, or don’t get it all.

get the need for social workers, but appears that protesting a bit too hard on this aspect - to deflect the publicity of the progressive salary bumps

For all the legislative battles and court fights, it comes down to the lease not being renewed. I guess the landlord is the real hero.

So CTU is asking for 37 less social workers than needed.
800 million divided by 533 social workers divided by three years I come up with $500k per year. Sweet.

I’m told the owners are a local family. They had so far escaped much if any notice. That wasn’t gonna last though and they likely knew it.

I guess ethylene oxide is like having a nuisance dog. Eventually the landlord decides he doesn’t want you back. If only Sterigenics picked up after their messes.

A wise move on a personal level for the owners. Imagine if it was later found the owners renewed the lease during all this, maybe even at a higher rent. Whew.

Looks like getting out-clouted is the basis of his lawsuit, but that doesn’t mean he’ll lose in court. I had a front row seat in the last round of Shakman settlements involving Chicago and Cook County. There were hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash payouts to precinct captains and other hacks who got their government jobs based solely on political connections but claimed to be “victims” when they were later passed over for promotions.
